FAEdit

Hey there Guard! Ezio passed as an FA, and since you did a lot of work on it, I figured I'd let you know so you could put the userbox on your page ;) I trust you know the code by now :) Nesty Contact me! 08:55, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

Yep, I do - Thanks for the heads up, Nesty ;) =GuardDog 13:42, February 17, 2012 (UTC)

IRCEdit

It begins... =D -- 'R BlaiddDdraig Enter... THE SCARY DOOR 03:29, February 19, 2012 (UTC)

So it does... with my missing you as usual, sorry XD I've just started my finals week, but I'll be very free as soon as it's over. =GuardDog 14:02, February 19, 2012 (UTC)
Fuck that, I'm not waiting a week XD. It's a pretty simple question, would you be interested in taking -S- as an Apprentice? Don't feel pressured to take him because I already have other people interested, but I'm asking all the free Masters just to keep it fair and give everyone a chance. -- 'R BlaiddDdraig Enter... THE SCARY DOOR 14:29, February 19, 2012 (UTC)
Eh, talking about it here works too XD And sure, I wouldn't mind taking him on. Whatever he (or you) prefers is fine with me. =GuardDog 14:34, February 19, 2012 (UTC)
IRC, when you're available. -- 'R BlaiddDdraig Enter. . . THE SCARY DOOR 05:46, April 21, 2012 (UTC)
Sure, I'll be on a few hours today. =GuardDog 02:36, April 24, 2012 (UTC)

IfEdit

If I may intrude for a second, I see ALOT of shared knowledge about the games on this site. I am however troubled that not once is there a reference to the true Assassin order that existed in Masayaf. I am refering to the Hashishin.

I am also wondering if any "Die Hard" fan is willing to travel with me to masayaf in the near future as a pilgrimage to the true Assassins that helped write the history that drives the series of games, books, and short films. I am very serious and dedicated. I am no editor, no apprentice, no blogger, ets... I have my mark, my brand. My loyalty is to the preservation of piece by any means available. Here is a link to a new guild: https://www.facebook.com/groups/391943417486272/ I am open to all inquiries and suggestions. Thank you fellow Assassins for your time and loyalty.Remember to honor the creed, and that Nothing is true, Everything is permitted.

- Sincerely, Michael Vanderburg Aeiyorne Dei

Francesco VecellioEdit

Just letting you know, Francesco Vecellio has made it to FA. Good job, and you know the code for the template ;) Nesty Contact me! 19:06, March 3, 2012 (UTC)

Ah great, thanks for telling me :D =GuardDog 23:59, March 4, 2012 (UTC)

-S- Edit

Hey GD, I stalled this decision for a while cus I had an awesome master scheme revolving around it, but the key part of it has kinda failed so I've got to do this the boring way. But in words you will understand, I've decided to give -S- to you as an Apprentice. I'll leave him a message detailing the switch and then I'll let you take it from there. -- 'R BlaiddDdraig Enter... THE SCARY DOOR 15:21, March 7, 2012 (UTC)

Nah, the boring way works :p Anyway, you got it Rafiq, it'd be my pleasure. I'll go leave him a note over at his pigeon coop then. =GuardDog 15:05, March 8, 2012 (UTC)

Platform Edit

Hey Guard, quick question, what platform do you play on? Master Decoder 08:25, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

I play on the PS3. Why d'you ask? =GuardDog 08:25, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
I was gonna see if you'd help me with a quick mp achievement, but I play on Xbox Master Decoder 08:27, March 9, 2012 (UTC)
Ah okay - good luck to you then :p =GuardDog 08:29, March 9, 2012 (UTC)

Minor characters Edit

Hey Guard, after replaying through Brotherhood a little, I remembered that there was two characters by the name of Livia and Mina that were killed by the Templar agents Il Carnefice and Malfatto. Do you think that they require an article, even if it is a stub? Slate Vesper 16:30, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

Hm, I don't recall Livia, but Mina is listed in the Courtesans page, under known members. Personally, I think they deserve an article, as long as it's complete as possible :) =GuardDog 16:33, March 27, 2012 (UTC)

Let's get rolling Edit

Since I can get back here on a proper basis now, and Sima is raging that I've left you hanging, we can get rolling with the next apprentice assignment when you're ready. Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 22:29, April 29, 2012 (UTC)

That's great. I'll have something up later today or early tomorrow, just keep an eye on the coop. =GuardDog 04:00, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
Sorry that it's going so slow, I'll pick up the pace in two days or so. University work connected with getting the BA next month takes priority. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 13:59, May 18, 2012 (UTC)
No worries, S, it's your apprenticeship. While no other potential apprentices need me, the assignments are just waiting for you. =GuardDog 14:08, May 18, 2012 (UTC)

Guards revamp Edit

Hey Guard, one thing that I noticed is that for one section in your revamp of the article, Papal Guards etc. are referred to as "Elite types", but seeing as there's also a guard type named Elites, I figured I suggest that they could be called "Expert types" instead, so it takes out any confusion that might happen.

Also, in Revelations, aren't the guards that throw Thunder Bombs called "Bombmen" in the Database?

Finally, when I looked over it, I noticed you forgot to add about the Elites in Revelations, who accompany the Agiles in a four-man group, nearly being replaced by Janissaries later. (After Tarik's assassination, there's one Elite, one Agile and two Janissaries) Slate Vesper 07:36, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for these Slate, but I'm far from finished :) My last edit was just reordering the old content of the Guards page, I didn't read any of it. I'm starting to rewrite and correct them now though.
For the "Elite types" section, I actually just couldn't think of a different title - "Expert" fits well though, thanks. I'll change the Bombmen and 16th century Elites segment as well.
Thanks again, I'll keep working at it, but please let me know if you see anything else XD =GuardDog 07:43, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
I'll make sure to do that. *salutes* Slate Vesper 07:52, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Guards Edit

I just noticed that GuardDog is revamping the Guards page... but I would just like to give a bit of my input. I noticed that you are separating each section into High Middle Ages, 15th century and 16th century. The High Middle Ages are a period, while the 15th century and 16th century are well, not periods but centuries. The correct equivalent would be just the Renaissance. Maybe you can also take into consideration that what we see in the games isn't the only thing that exists in the universe; there are always events happening everywhere in the world. (The 16th century was characterized by several notable international wars, resulting in the clashes of guards from different countries and armies. Among these were the Liberation of Rome, Siege of Viana, and power struggle in Constantinople.) These were just two things I noticed and found a little off, maybe you can work with that. :) -- Master Sima Yi 09:09, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

Fitting, isn't it? :p Anyway, your input's much appreciated, Sima, thanks.
As for the headers, I was just working with the division that was already there - will switch it to just "Renaissance" then. I'll also reword that section about the international wars XD
And as I said to Slate, thanks, and please voice it if you catch anything else :D =GuardDog 09:16, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
It were just two things I noticed, I don't want to interrupt your revamp too much or make it seem like I'm looking down on you. Keep up the good work! -- Master Sima Yi 09:21, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

I like the change but I preferred the previous guard pictures. Could you put those pictures back please. Of course I don't mind if you don't. Fairy Tail Grand Master<F.T.G.M. > 09:25, May 9, 2012 (UTC)

In the end it's up to her to decide what she does with the revamp. Though I would like to add that the quantity of pictures makes the page a little crowded here and there, and then the "16th century" under the "Ranking" section is a bit messed up. I would also vary the placing of the pictures between left and right. Sorry! XD -- Master Sima Yi 09:31, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
Fixing the Ranking section as we speak, Sima XD I can adjust the images too.
And FairyTail, I thought those old images were good quality too, but the article just seems more uniform with the others if it has in-game images, rather than models. :) All the old images are retained in the Guards/Gallery page though. =GuardDog 09:37, May 9, 2012 (UTC)
I noticed. Just showing my opinion is all. Glad you agree.Fairy Tail Grand Master<F.T.G.M. >4:37, May 10, 2012 (UTC)

Progress Edit

I've made some further expansion to the assignment as promised. You can see it in the Sandbox. [1]

I've tried to keep as much to the canon and the facts based on the memory description as possible, and not put speculative info in. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 11:22, May 22, 2012 (UTC)

Well done, the Personality section looks fine. Just maybe cut up the paragraph in the Biography, and expand the details of the Christmas Truce itself slightly (such as what exactly the two sides were doing). =GuardDog 03:28, May 24, 2012 (UTC)

Very concerned Edit

Alright, I'm going to try and be as polite as possible even though I'm budding with irrational thought right now. Why was my edit to the trivia section of Eagle Vision reverted? If you could tell me why, please? The information I stated was relevant, as it wasn't stated anywhere else that another Assassin possessed Eagle Sense and that only Ezio did. I mentioned the bit about Altair as a fun fact, but the fact that I can't make any edits on this site because of my rank is upsetting in many ways. So I ask you, what do I have to do to gain some authority on this site? Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 03:08, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

Your supposed "rank" has nothing to do with it - I don't think any editors on the Wiki hold positions over the others, save perhaps the two Admin. I reverted the edit because of the edit, not because of you.
The trivia wasn't very relevant, and wasn't written too well. Also, though Altaïr wasn't explicitly mentioned to possess Eagle Sense, neither was it explicitly mentioned that he never achieved it - unless you have a source for that. If you do, by all means, please add it. =GuardDog 03:23, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
You'll have to forgive me but I'm highly sensitive of a person. In any case, I think it was written just fine, I mean, English is my best subject so it's a bit insulting to be reading that. PS: I have a difficult time following regulations in general because of my fierce independence and unwillingness to follow orders/demands/commands/rules. I remain an upstanding citizen regardless of that fact however, but I checked under the (block) link and it states only administrators, wiki staff, etc. Have the permission to edit on the page, I'm guessing editors like I don't have sufficient experience to edit high class articles. Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 03:31, June 7, 2012 (UTC)
When I said "wasn't written too well", I meant in terms of Wiki standards, not English. For example, you used a messy external link for Altaïr's page, when you could have just used "[[Altair Ibn-La'Ahad]]".
Also, I believe certain pages are locked for the sake of avoiding vandalism or unsourced information. High-traffic pages are difficult to maintain with so many editors at once. Thus, some can only be edited by users logged in, by the staff members, or exclusively by the admin. It's not a show of power or experience, it's just for the sake of maintaining the quality of the article. Don't worry, you shouldn't take it personally. =GuardDog 03:44, June 7, 2012 (UTC)

clay Edit

you know, i don't think clay died when the black room delteleted itself, the animus is powerfull enough to rebuilt it self, and so according the fact that clay is a part of the animus, he is also rebuilt, so i think that the animus has rebuilt itself, and the blackroom, including clay, who is now again in the blackroom

what do you think?

PS: i think that, if clay was a real live person, i could be related to him, as clay and me don't have much difrinces

Please sign your posts, NikoMarston. It's really hard to understand your question, but if I got it right, no I don't agree. Clay is dead - Lucy admitted, as did virtual Clay. The Animus Clay is not the same as the living person, though he is a version of him. The Animus builds a virtual reality, that is not (at least not yet) powerful enough to affect the actual world. =GuardDog 02:20, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

I haveEdit

I have recently joined your order but does this mean i am a apprentice, if not thencan i really show how i'll favour the wiki

Thank youAssassinBlade123 20:42, June 19, 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to the Wiki then. I might not understand you right, but if you're asking if you can join the Apprentice Initiative, then you can see the details here. =GuardDog 05:51, June 20, 2012 (UTC)

Asking GuardDog's permission. Edit

Hi GuardDog! I'm asking permission to edit the Hidden gun page, I have a trivia fact I want to add.

Seems you already added it, but it's fine, you didn't disrupt my editing anyway, Sorasonic. Also, please remember to sign your posts. =GuardDog 10:50, June 21, 2012 (UTC)

Congrats Edit

Hey Guard, I just saw your edit to your page. Congratulations on your new job with Gameloft. :D Slate Vesper 11:49, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the support, Slate XD I don't start 'til next week, but hopefully it'll be fun. =GuardDog 11:50, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, long time no see, War XD And thanks a lot regardless. =GuardDog 01:19, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Are Gameloft the guys that made the mobile AC games? I am even more late than War Clown, but congrats on the Job :DThe Joker~ (talk)

Yes they are Joker, we've got an article for them here on the Wiki :D And thanks. =GuardDog 01:27, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

Re: Good jobEdit

Thanks for the message, GuardDog! It's always cool to be recognized, even though my edits aren't always that substantial (so far, at least; I hope to have the spare time to change that). This is a really comprehensive wiki (on that note, congrats on all of your contributions as well!), and I'm really liking what I see here so far. See you around! Nate D. 02:58, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

It's no problem, I received a warm welcome from the users here when I first started, so it only seems fair to recognize others' contributions too ;) And yep, I'll see you around. =GuardDog 03:01, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Arabic GrammarEdit

Hey there Guard. I noticed you removed the "s" from rafiq because that's english grammar, I can help as I am an arabian. Rafiq in plural is pronounced Rifaq in arabic. I don't know if that helps but thought I'd share it. ShrtFngr Talk 17:18, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

Ah I see - thanks for that. Not sure if I'll put it in, but that's good to know. =GuardDog 13:38, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

Conner Kenway Edit

Why did you change it? There was nothing wrong with it. --Cococrash11 (talk) 06:51, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Placing the full quote is long and unnecessary. The first portion of his speech seems to embody the idea well enough already. =GuardDog 06:56, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Altaïr, Ezio, and Aveline's Quote is just as long as Connor's before you changed it. The first portion is about his Parentage and the second portion is his resolution. The other half is necessary. --Cococrash11 (talk) 07:10, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

I never noticed Aveline's quote - which I will probably shorten after this. Quotes should be as brief as possible, and Connor's luckily holds a complete idea in fewer words, unlike Ezio's and Altaïr's.
As you said, Connor's speech holds two points, parentage and resolve. To say both is to say two different ideas - which is unnecessary. Either half is acceptable, but not both. You could change it to the "In the name of liberty..." half though if you prefer. =GuardDog 07:22, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

So the only reason Ezio's and Altaïr's long because its not as complete as Connor's? Where does it said it needs or required to be as short as possible? --Cococrash11 (talk) 07:38, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Length of a quote isn't a rule, but it's more for aesthetic value. Memorable quotes need not be long - less is more, you could say.
As for Ezio's and Altaïr's quotes, I simply mean to say they aren't as concise. Try removing a sentence from either of their quotes, and you'll see the idea becomes incomplete. =GuardDog 08:02, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Bureau Edit

Just thought you should know, the feminine form of Rafiq is Rafiqah. =) ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 12:48, August 20, 2012 (UTC)

Merging Edit

Why did you not create any discussion thread for your merging of London into England? -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 19:14, September 16, 2012 (UTC)

I do apologize, but it seemed obvious to me. Previous to the merge they were practically identical (as can be seen here and here). They had the exact same series of information: King Henry VII, Queen Mary I, King Charles II, then the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. The only difference was that England had an additional section for modern times.
Secondly, I initially meant to have London deleted, and marked it with the appropriate template - assuming that any objections would be said in the deletion Talk Page, and that the template could simply be removed if ever. =GuardDog 23:42, September 16, 2012 (UTC)
This has created inconsistency, we should just as well do so for all other city articles. Be sure to create a discussion thread for things like this. I am personally opposed to it; I'd rather see the country articles severely cut in information, because we don't need every single thing that happened in those countries featured on the articles, and keep the city articles as they are. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 14:22, September 17, 2012 (UTC)
Okay, I see your point. Rest assured, I'll make sure to create a discussion first, next time I start considering something similar. =GuardDog 22:15, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

My edit Edit

I see that you reverted my really small edit I was not vandalising it was just that the Assassin's Creed: Initiates page stated that Desmond and company actually arrived at Monteriggioni on the 16th not the 9th. I just wanted you to know why I switched it if you thought otherwise. AssassinCreedFreak122 (talk) 13:19, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Guard reverted your edit because, even should the information you add be relevant, it needs to be sourced via a reference. In this case, you should have placed <ref name="Initiates>''[[Assassin's Creed: Initiates]]''</ref> after the punctuation following the information you added, to show where it was stated. Slate Vesper (talk) 13:38, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

Yep, it's exactly as Slate said, AssassinFreak. I didn't think it was vandalism, you should just be responsible with sourcing if you wish to update any information. (And Slate, thanks for clearing this up right away) =GuardDog 22:15, September 17, 2012 (UTC)

DilaraEdit

Heya GuardDog. Dilara has passed the trial, so I figured I'd inform you. You know the code to the userbox! Also, if it is not too much trouble, I would like your input here... Thanks! :) Nesty Contact me! 13:47, September 19, 2012 (UTC)

Regarding Dilara, thanks for letting me know, I'll go put up the userbox. For the adminship though, sorry Nesty, you'll have to forgive my delay in voting. I do support you in it, but honestly, I feel a bit cheated (though not from any fault of yours, or anyone's really).
To explain, if you'll look up there in my talk page, Vatsa wanted to talk to me a few weeks back - exactly to also ask me about considering an admin position. However, he wasn't sure what the process would be, so I agreed to wait.
Though I'm sure it's just miscommunication between him and Sima, I'll need a minute to come to terms with that. Your voting's going well either way, and I promise I'll add my voice to the approval soon. =GuardDog 12:34, September 20, 2012 (UTC)
I understand. I hope this issue will be resolved soon. You are most certainly worthy of the position, and I do hope we will both get the honors. Nesty Contact me! 12:41, September 20, 2012 (UTC)

Question Edit

Hello, GD. I apologize that I still have the Erich Albert apprentice revamp unfinished, but I'm getting the page done within the next few days.

I wanted to ask if you'd consider me being in the process of creating all the AC1 memory pages an apropriate next task, since I am doing it pretty much alone, it's a large assignment and it's in progress. I asked Sima about it, and he said to refer to you. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 17:41, October 5, 2012 (UTC)

Hey S. You're still due for a rank up after finishing Apprentices, but I'll give it once the Erich Albert page is out of the way (which was meant as a check whether you were still interested in pursuing an apprenticeship).
As for the AC memories, sure, that seems like an acceptable assignment. Done appropriately, it should earn you a few more steps up. I took a look at what you've done so far, and you seem to be progressing well enough, keep at it. I'll update the Coop with the memory assignment - just let me know there or here if you need anything from me, or when you're finished. =GuardDog 08:38, October 6, 2012 (UTC)

Apprenticeship KainEdit

Hey GuardDog! I'm just checking in to see whether you're still continuing the mentoring of Kain, seeing as his apprenticeship has been surrounded by an unusual amount of inactivity for the past few months. Let me know, so that, if necessary, I can undertake some kind of action, depending on the possible need. Thanks :) Nesty Contact me! 15:26, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Nesty :) Actually, the apprenticeship has felt in limbo for quite a while, I never actually felt like it ever started. I never really did any mentoring - Kain seems to be learning well enough on his own, and I hardly ever got any feedback on supposed assignments.
I don't really see the need for the apprenticeship, but wasn't sure what was needed. I'm open to what you suggest though. Thanks for the help. =GuardDog 01:08, February 8, 2013 (UTC)
I have conferred with Kain, and he has opted to leave the apprenticeship program, at least for the time being. Thus I'll remove him from the Apprenticeship pages. If he wants to restart he will, of course, get a fair chance to do so. Also, I'd like to know whether you would be willing to have a new apprentice, should someone sign up again? Nesty Contact me! 12:24, February 9, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks Nesty, much appreciated. As for taking on a new apprentice, unfortunately, I'm not sure I'm around enough for it - if you don't mind, please take me off the Mentor roster as well. I still will continue to drop by here to edit, but I may not come often enough to oversee someone else. Thanks. =GuardDog 10:04, February 12, 2013 (UTC)
Not a problem Guard. Will do ;) Nesty Contact me! 10:54, February 12, 2013 (UTC)

Bonjour Edit

Hey Guard, what's up? Haven't seen much of you lately, still alive? -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 16:11, April 13, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Sima. Thanks for the concern, yeah, I'm still alive :p I've been preoccupied on other sites though, doing more fiction than article writing. I don't really expect I'll be around here much in the near future. =GuardDog 23:59, April 15, 2013 (UTC)
Oh woops, I forgot you replied here. Good to hear! Let me know if anything changes! -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 09:21, April 28, 2013 (UTC)

Staff positionEdit

Heya GuardDog, Nesty here. You have not been active on the wiki for quite some time now. Because of that, we are considering removing you from your staff position. However, we are reluctant to do so without giving you a chance to give us your opinion on it. So please let me now if you would like to keep your staff position and will become more active again or whether you are willing to relinquish your staff position. It's nothing personal, but we need active staff members. I'm sure you understand. Nesty Contact me! 12:59, July 17, 2013 (UTC)

Hey Nesty. Of course I don't take it personally - I've been meaning to close this door for a while now, and should have gotten around to it sooner. Formally then: I don't see any time I'll be active here again soon, and thus relinquish my staff position. Thanks for giving me the chance, and I hope you all fare well here. =GuardDog 01:17, July 18, 2013 (UTC)
