Reporting VandalismEdit

Not exactly vandalism per se, but this page sounds a bit rum to me. Why exactly it sounds odd is, well, obvious. LikeAnEagle 08:56, September 2, 2010 (UTC) Never mind, War fixed it. LikeAnEagle 12:47, September 2, 2010 (UTC)

I've deleted the blog and given him a warning concerning badges. Unfortunately I can't delete badges which are not rightfully earned. Thanks for the heads up though. --Altaïr 20:00, October 9, 2010 (UTC)
I've got one for you. He's going around making stupid edits to pages, such as adding pictures in wierd places and adding a single word (in this case, "sharp") on different pages, likely for badges. Harlequin1252 <- Here is the page. Assassin-Rayne 03:09, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

General Talk Edit

Hi, welcome to Assassin's Creed Wiki! Thanks for your edit to the Maria page.

Please leave a message on my talk page if I can help with anything! -- Hells Angel (Talk) 02:26, 21 May 2009

Hey. You can't correct spelling in a file link, that breaks them. Check the Piece of Eden page and see if you can find what you did wrong. -- D. Cello 21:55, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

The POE page has been completely rewritten, so you wouldn't find it by now. But i is completelly different from ï. They are two different characters. If there's a link to a file called altairpicture.jpg and you change the link to altaïrpicture.jpg, he won't find the file, cause it isn't the right name. Got it? -- D. Cello 20:09, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

And sign your posts with 4 tildes. -- D. Cello 20:10, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Don't worry, I'm not angry. And the edit summary indicated that change of name file under your name, that's why you was contacted. Just be careful with those file names, you have no idea how much categorization and file problems we had with small typos x.x -- D. Cello 15:22, February 14, 2010 (UTC)

Al, I'm giving you rollback rights. You can find more info here. Make good use of them. -- D. Cello 03:55, March 6, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, I'll do my best to do so. -- Altaïr March 6, 2010 (UTC)

Hey, Thanks for reverting that edit to my user page. ;D
btw, the guy is banned from wiki XD -- D. Cello 15:53, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

Glad to be of help. He also vandalized my page. Luckily I got an e-mail too about your page being changed by an unknown user, so I checked and reverted it immediately. Well it's in these occasions that the rollback comes in handy. So thanks for that. -- Altaïr 16:57, March 13, 2010 (UTC)

Al, when you up a image make sure to change its name to something that makes sense and describe it, like "altair killing templar.jpg" instead of "avasdbasasbjassak.jpg". It makes the listing of files and organization easier. ;D - D. Cello 21:29, May 9, 2010 (UTC)

Alright, I'll rename them next time I upload them... If I don't forget... My memory aint the best lol -- Altaïr 00:43, May 10, 2010 (UTC)
So, Al. How are you liking being a sysop? -- D. Cello 04:48, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

  • Lol at this moment I don't feel like I have made a big enough mark yet, to call myself a sysop. - Altaïr 11:37, May 16, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Al. I would like you to read this page and give some tought about it. Take some time, and them contact me on my talk page with whenever came up on your mind, okay?
Thanks. -- D. Cello 03:55, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

Well one thing I can think of is when I read about 'users like to be recognized'... Well we got a community link where you see the forum, the staff etc on... Then why don't we also put one for the high contributors themselves on that list. A list that displays all their names on it and icons similar to the staff page, which I think will only motivate them to do more, cause say if someone is inactive for a long time, we remove them. But you have to put a timeline on it, a limit. But I think it will keep them going only to be seen on that list. -- Altaïr 11:17, May 19, 2010 (UTC)

That's interesting... Don't know about the picture, but a list for top editors (excluding we sysops) is a great idea.
Listen, since activity here is going back up again, somewhere in the next month I plan to make our first staff meeting. We'll sort out the time tables (since we have people from all over the world) to schedule it when all or most can take part. It will have plenty of advertising before too. I'll keep you posted on the details as I create them, make an effort to be there. -- D. Cello 03:03, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

Two things, one is a recomendation: You should change the featured article at least every week. And two: Is your wife really called Maria Thorpe.--Le Vulpe

Well D.Cello is the main admin here, so he decides what appears on the main page. He does change the content from time to time. I'm sure he has a reason why he doesn't change it often. And no Maria Thorpe is the nickname of my wife on this wiki. She chose it for obvious reasons of course. -- Altaïr 01:21, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
Why did eliminate my post on the timeline, please answer.Le Vulpe 00:32, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Al Mualim was likely based on the person you mentionned, but in the end they are not the same person, so it's not Assassin's Creed related. -- Altaïr 02:31, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Rectifiying: I'm the bureaucraut here. Means I outrule everybody's ass =P
About the main page... I have a kind of schedule for it, but I need a admin or Istruttori to help me set it and change it often. -- D. Cello 01:28, July 29, 2010 (UTC)
Yep, that's the word I was looking for... Bureaucrat... That it all right lol --Altaïr 03:28, July 29, 2010 (UTC)

Al, your signature links to Altaïr's article, not your page. Btw, meet me at IRC when possible? -- D. Cello 18:51, August 3, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Altair how long have you been on assassins creed wiki? Contact me on my page. My username is Dumdum12. I'm looking forward to chating with you!

sorry that was causing a mess lol --MegaHyperNova 21:07, September 3, 2010 (UTC)

What third assassin? Edit

You undid one of my revisions on this stating that there may be a possible third assassin in ACIII. Your edit included "no assumptions" as a reason. Im trying to be respectful since you're the admin here, but there is no third assassin in ACIII (and its actually ACB, since its Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, not III.) Please get facts straight or at least reclarify why my edit was "wrong." White3agle510 01:57, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

First AC Brotherhood is a spin-off, it's not the last of the trilogy. There will be an Assassin's Creed III. And that will have another possible different ancestor to Desmond. Secondly what you wrote is only a theory, an assumption, and if we can't back up that the information you put in is completely valid, then it won't be included in this wiki. Altaïr 4:13, September 16, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you for clarifying. I like using a wiki where the admin is on top of things. :P White3agle510 02:18, September 16, 2010 (UTC)

I saw in a site that was saying in AC3 we will meet a new Assassin.

Hey, Altaïr, I'm kh2narutofan and I'd like you to comment on one of my blogs about ACIII.

Hey,Altair Edit

I will do everything I can for the Wiki.

That's good to hear, first thing you could start with is sign your posts;) -- Altaïr 19:32, September 17, 2010 (UTC)

Hey Altair (still trouble with that 'i'), I noticed on Master Sima's blog post that, like myself, you have a bit of interest in the concept of Feudal Japan for Assassin's Creed III, and I noticed your samurai-styled Assassin image, (which I admit you did some really nice work on, I liked your concept) but I thought you would be interested in looking at an image I found on It's a really interesting concept for a Feudal Japan ACIII, and personally I found it to be a pretty sweet image. Assassin's Creed III (Feudal Japan Fan-Concept) Take a look if you want, Altair. I figured you might have seen it by now, but since you showed interest in Feudal ACIII, I thought I'd bring the image to your attention. :D The artist did a really good job at it. Assassin-Rayne 02:21, October 18, 2010 (UTC)

Good job, Edit

Whoa~!, good job with those 3 Eagle's Nest gold achievements! Holy shizzat, I think you've sealed your position on the leaderboard forever. XD By the way, I think you shouold archive your talkpage now, it takes a while to load.

The Thief 12:45, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I had noticed, and some were just lucky edits, but that's because I have to say a bit of a clumsy editor, who makes mistakes and has to correct them. So that's often two edits, instead of one. So I don't really think about it. And some were just some lucky edits. Like making the 14,000th edit. Got a few of those too, but no wonder being so active and making so many mistakes lol. But I did see some throphy hunter yesterday. He was adding really much pictures yesterday and possibly the day before, cause he already has like a badge for adding a 100 pictures, while he's still pretty new. I'll have to warn him, cause often he puts these pictures at strange places, or without a caption. I often have to correct that. But I'll speak about it with him next time I see him, doing it again. Just keep your eyes open. -- Altaïr 14:53, September 20, 2010 (UTC)

New Istruttori Promotion Concept Edit

At the slight chance that you'll get this message...Hey Al. I've been creating concepts on my sandbox for a new way to nominate potential Istruttori members. The concept is based on how we vote for Good and Featured Articles, and so far I think the idea is coming along pretty well. Assuming you're still an Istruttore, I humbly ask you to check this out and review what I've made. Please vote for the two beta subjects. Be it positive or negative, it matters not. Subsequently, give your opinion on the section below the two subjects. Thanks a plenty :D --WarClownWanna Talk? 13:46, September 29, 2010 (UTC)

Are you still Istruttori? Edit

Hello there, sir. I'm just wondering if you're still part of the Istruttorium, given your current position. So...? --WarClownWanna Talk? 10:26, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Well in name I am, but to me it doesn't matter much, cause I can pretty much do what I do in the Istruttorium as an admin. -- 20:45, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
So that means I should still notify you of any changes to the team, correct? --WarClownWanna Talk? 11:48, October 5, 2010 (UTC)
I wouldn't like to be kept in the dark, no. I'd like to be aware of as much as possible of what is going on in this forum. -- Altaïr 14:01, October 5, 2010 (UTC)
Alright then. Back to work I guess. :D --WarClownWanna Talk? 12:08, October 5, 2010 (UTC)

"Lucky" Badge Edit

Hey there, I'm new, and I was checking out your page and I saw that you had a badge for making the "lucky 14,000th edit on a page". You were the only one who had it, it said, and I was wondering if there were other badges like it.AssassinsCreed2015 23:43, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

There are other members who have lucky edit badges. I've got a few of them. You get it with every thousand edits that is made on this wiki. And since only one member can make such an edit there will be only one badge of each lucky edit, though more will of course follow. --Altaïr 23:48, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Hello there. Edit

Hey, thanks for the welcome. Like I said before, I am sorry for creating that blog post. I have a question: Is it possible to delete accounts? I want to start again. I believe that the badges should be removed. I am an achievement hunter, if you know what I mean, and it is so tempting to do stuff just to earn that little badge/achievement/trophy. But that is just my opinion.

Thanks. Daemon300 20:45, October 9, 2010 (UTC)Daemon300

Well I'm not such a fan of badges either, but it keeps a lot of members motivated... for the wrong reason I guess. You can always create a new account, but I don't want to make a habit of it. --Altaïr 21:13, October 9, 2010 (UTC)

Hi Edit

Hi there Altair, AssassinRome here. I would only like to know if you plan to go to any other Italian citys like Rome or Milan?

What are you thoughts on Brotherhood?

I've already been to Rome in 2003. Maybe I will go back. I might go to Pisa, cause more history lies there of my family. I'm looking forward to Brotherhood, though I wish they would also make a next-gen game with Altaïr, though I doubt they will. --Altaïr 21:33, October 15, 2010 (UTC)

Hi! Just to get the badge ...... --Andra2404 sig Andra2404 !WARNING! Badge collector !WARNING! 07:23, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

I hope you know what to do with that guy, Altaïr. -- Master Sima Yi 07:47, October 17, 2010 (UTC)
Well I gave him a fair warning on his talkpage, but let's just keep an eye on him. So far he only has three badges. Let's just see how fast they increase. -- Altaïr 11:24, October 17, 2010 (UTC)

It's something complicated... Edit

Well to put things simply, there's this complicated issue involving me and CFVII in real life, issues about online harassment that I'm not completely sure about anymore and personal things. It's best to give a warning to CFVII if he accuses me of anything else Cedric, I will likely stay away from this wiki if this doesn't blow over. --Lunatic Enlighten Me 23:15, October 21, 2010 (UTC)

Well you know I have to stay objective in this case, but so far I have seen no harassment on the wiki coming from you. So if this continues, just come to me and I'll have a word with Cloud, okay? Like I said on your talk page, this should be left outside the wiki. This is not concerning the wiki, so we don't want any arguments like that here. You are a good member and so is he, but in the end, we can't tolerate such behaviour like these threats on your talk page. So if something happens, just contact me. -- Altaïr 01:56, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

I understand and I will do so, thank you. --Lunatic Enlighten Me 04:35, October 22, 2010 (UTC)

Checking onEdit

Hey, Al. You're alive? -- D. Cello 03:18, November 4, 2010 (UTC)

Yeah I am, but at the moment I have very limited access to the computer, which means I won't be much active on the wiki for the coming 2-3 months I'm afraid. -- Altaïr 15:02, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Give us a heads up when you go missing like that =P Btw, how did the marriage went? -- D. Cello 17:29, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
Well the wedding was in may... We went on a honeymoon in Florence and Venice in september, which was awesome. Altair in Ezio's footsteps lol... Shouldn't it be the other way around? Might choose to go to Rome next lol -- Altaïr 17:41, November 5, 2010 (UTC)
Aye, just don't get your uncle killed when you do that. XD -- D. Cello 17:47, November 5, 2010 (UTC)

Profaity filter Edit

Just wanted to know if the assassin's creed wiki has a profaity filterDoubleMatt 01:10, November 17, 2010 (UTC)

I don't even know what a profaity filter is, actually.-- Altaïr 16:45, November 18, 2010 (UTC)
it covers up curse wordsDoubleMatt 17:49, November 18, 2010 (UTC)
Why the hell would you want to know that? -- D. Cello 22:21, November 18, 2010 (UTC)
I think it would be a bit useless. Most of the moderators we have are fast enough to cover this themselves. If articles are vandalized then these filters become useless. Here and there I might delete comments if the swearing is OTT, but I'm okay if there's a bit of swearing. It's fairly normal as long as the behaviour can be kept civil. -- Altaïr 13:42, November 19, 2010 (UTC)
Noted thanks DoubleMatt 01:58, November 21, 2010 (UTC)

I was wondering how do I edit a timeline page.

Well there should be an icon that says 'edit' like on other pages. Lots of them in fact as there are so many centuries and years to edit. And please sign your posts next time.-- Altaïr 13:06, November 24, 2010 (UTC)
I enjoy the brotherhood background but it makes reading text on the tops and sides of pages difficult inclucding in the login page so maybe somone could fix that... thanks HBSolice 21:00, December 2, 2010 (UTC)
I know you're on hiatus right now, and that it may be a while before you read this, but I noticed on the Timeline Talk page you mentioned how long the article is going to be. I'm new to all this so I don't know if what I'm about to suggest is a stupid idea or even possible, but can you add a filter to the beginning of the page, so the reader can choose if they want to to see a timeline of just deaths, births, battles, construction of famous landmarks and stuff like that. It would make looking for a particular event much easier, and shorten the page so it's not a massive heap of information. No hurry, get back to me whenerver.'R BlaiddDdraig 02:35, December 22, 2010 (UTC)

Edit on Trophies/Achievements? Edit

Under the Trophies/Achievements section of the AC: Brotherhood article, it states that it is unknown why an in game morse code is translated and found to be "I AM ALIVE". It is possible that it is referring to a Ubisoft game in development titled, "I AM ALIVE". I contacted you because I was not able to edit that part, please take my theory in consideration.LivingLifeless9 22:41, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

We have heard of this theory, but then again it's a theory and articles demand facts, not speculation. There are several rumours of new AC games, but until Ubisoft confirms, we can't post anything. -- Altaïr 23:58, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Absency Edit

Hey Altaïr, how's life? Anyways, about your absency - when are you going to come back? You are coming back, right? Not to sound blunt, but if you're going to be away for quite a while yet, I think it would be a wiser decision to give your sysop position to an Isttrutore - just for the sake of beneficiality to the wiki. It's not like I want you gone from the wiki, not at all, but it'd be a waste of space to have an inactive member that high up the wiki hierarchy. I hope to hear from you soon, and ahope a positive reply to your return. Groetjes! -- Master Sima Yi 07:10, January 13, 2011 (UTC)

I have to keep this response short, but I will return back to Belgium the 6th of Februari. I'll probably become active again the day or a few days after. Maybe if that's still too much, I hope only a temporary replacement is necessary to fulfill my duty, cause I'd really like to return here. But if these absencees are going to become a problem, then we must negotiate if I keep my duty as admin or have to step down to a lower position, cause I probably have to return to Scotland for a month again in April. -- Altaïr 22:08, January 13, 2011 (UTC)
I see. Well, I'll discuss this with Cello. ;) Is April the only month you'll be gone again? -- Master Sima Yi 06:16, January 14, 2011 (UTC)
That's the problem. Probably not. Thing is we think about moving to Scotland. So I'm really trying to get use to this place. I could be more active when I actually do live here, but not as active as I used to be, because I have more repsonsibilities to uphold. Eventually I know I will have to step down. I can't do this for the rest of my life lol. We're even thinking of having a family so that will certainly complicate things;) Anyway I'll try to make myself more active, even when I'm in Scotland, but I can never be as active as I used to be. But I hope it will suffice. -- Altaïr 16:09, January 14, 2011 (UTC)

Al, due to your heavy absence, I am removing your status as a sysop, but you still will maintain rollback rights. Please remove the admin userbox and header from your page. If you ever wish to come back, we will be here. Safety and Peace. -- D. Cello 17:21, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

Well I told Master Sima Yi that I was coming back the 6th of Februari, but if I'm already cut off , then there is not much point for me to explain why I was absent for such a long time. Anyway you can see what I told him up your own message if you haven't read it yet. And in case you did, I must say that I'm slightly disappointed, but I understand. -- Altaïr 02:19, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

Ay, I read it. I was the one who asked hi mto check on you in the first place. But I can't have a position of sysop being occupied by someone who isn't active most of the day and who hasn't been active for around 2 months already. And it was not like if you were using all the powers, you havent deleted or blocked anyone in ages. We need a sysop, and you couldn't cut it =/ Sorry mate. But we still are here once you get your family on tracks and wish to come back. -- D. Cello 02:23, January 23, 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, a few words of explanation. Like I said I completely understand your decision. But I am going to be honest with you. The main reason I was very active here was becausse I took pride in being an admin at your side and Master Sima Yi. So maybe I am taking this too personal, but the fact that this decision was made without properly discussing it with me, comes as a big stab in the back. Again maybe I'm taking this too personal, but that's just me. Before I could negotiate anything about my position I was already replaced by someone else... So, I've just lost all motivation, my passion to work for this wiki, as I've lost everything just like that. But from your point of view I would have done the same... Just not in such a rush I guess. Anyway I'm sure Warclown is going to do a fine job. But I don't need any rollback rights. I don't think that after this move I'll be very active anyway. Sadly being an admin kept me going. While I know it shouldn't... Maybe I wouldn't have been this personal if this didn't come so sudden. Anyway I said my peace and won't hold you up longer. It's been nice while it lasted. Good luck running the Wiki.Cheers. -- Altaïr 02:39, January 23, 2011 (UTC)
Hello, we may not remember me, but I annoyed you once over some inapt question, and here is another one; Are now returning to the wiki, due to you're recent edits or not? AssassinRome 16:31, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
Yes I said I would be coming back and I'm going to keep my word that I will be active again. Though I'm not an admin anymore. -- Altaïr 16:35, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
Admin or not, people will still respect you, even I feel that you're still one and you could block me whenever you please. AssassinRome 16:40, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, I appreciate what you're saying. Although technically I can't block you anymore lol. J/K. -- Altaïr 16:46, February 9, 2011 (UTC)

Welcome back buddy :) DanMan7308 16:48, February 9, 2011 (UTC) DanMan737

Hey Danman... Yeah it's been a while. Though the long absence was necessary. Anyway thx for the welcome back. -- Altaïr
Hi Al, welcome back! How was bonnie Scotland? (I'm from Scotland incase you didn't know!) Campbell430 20:22, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
It was freezing! Snow was everywhere. It was as high to above my knees at certain points. But next to that it was good, thx for asking. -- Altaïr 20:26, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
Welcome back, Altaïr, hope all is good! I agree with you that it was a bit.. well.. ruthless to replace you like that and so fast, what's the harm in 3 admins (I don't include the 'crat, it's a different rank) and one of them coming back in a few weeks?
You were an awesome admin.. You and Sima were the best out of them all past and present (including WarClown, the currently absent user that replaced you), I think you score JUST A BIT more points than Sima though for frequenting many of mine and other users' rants about some articles needing huge changes that no other admin would care about (like the Battle_tactics page).
Maybe you can rise up and from recruit become an admin again? Haha.
Cheers, --THIEF 21:07, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, nice to hear that I didn't fail as an admin when I was one lol. Means that my demoting wasn't because of my actions, but just of my absence. In truth, like I said I understand D.Cello's decision, though I think it was a bit of a rushed one. Anyway it's done now. I have thought about what you said, of having an extra opening for an admin, after all the wiki is growing. I thought of proposing it, but I it was too late to do so, when I suddenly was already demoted without further negotiations and Warclown was announced to the public to replace me. So I didn't bother. -- Altaïr 21:30, February 9, 2011 (UTC)
Hey Altaïr, you don't know me, so I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. Im Subject 16*, or Steen, what ever you prefer. I'm the newest member of the Istruttori due to a surprise initiation! Should you need anything (especially images) just let me know and I will be happy to help. Nice to have you back and I hope to work with you in the future. Much admiration and respect for you! Cheers! Sick-steeN 00:59, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
I'll call you 16 if you don't mind. Congratz on becoming a member to the Istruttori. And thanks for the message. Cheers. -- Altaïr 10:54, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah.. too bad, man. I hope you'll be reconsidered for the position again soon. Very unfair indeed. :( --THIEF 04:59, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah but the other question is do I want to become admin again after this has happened. Not sure... -- Altaïr 10:54, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Welcome back Altaïr. I hope all is good. Anyways, please know that it was not my decision to replace you. In fact I thought I would be placed beside you and Sima Yi. I agree with Thief that the decision was a bit reckless, but we don't control Cello's rule. Anyways, that's all I have to say. I hope to see more from you in the future. --Jacques le BlancReception Area 12:30, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for the support. I really appreciate it. Like I said to Marcel I think you were a good choice to replace me. See you around. -- Altaïr 12:55, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Well, before everyone starts crying on their blankets, let me repeat the motive of Al's demotion from sysop status: he was absent from edits and 99% of wiki activity (except answering his talkpage) for almost half a year. I CAN'T have a inactive sysop on the board, so I asked Sima to talk to him on my behalf, and when Al said he still shouldn't be coming back for real for a time, I let War to do the job we were lacking for 4 or 5 months.
Nothing personal, but the wiki comes first. I won't keep a friend of mine in a position if this ship suffers for it. -- D. Cello 17:07, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Well let's get some facts straight. I was gone for four months, which I agree is still a long time, but it's not half a year as you say. And when I talked to Master Sima I said I would be back in a little more than half a month, so that was still too much? Apparently... Anyway I'm going to argue about it any further. Sorry, but 'suffers' sounds exaggerated. You could have at least had the decency to discuss your decision in person. And it's funny how you called your edit 'Rushed would be demoting Al without warning'. That's exactly what happened. -- Altaïr 17:22, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Mate, in the four months you did nothing we went from 600 articles to a thousand-and-twenty. You missed a LOT. My commitment is with the wiki, and we had the decency to ask you if you would come back and stay. Your answer? Quote following:

"That's the problem. We're even thinking of having a family so that will certainly complicate things;) Anyway I'll try to make myself more active, even when I'm in Scotland, but I can never be as active as I used to be."

So you would come back now, go back two months later, then come back, then raise a family, then leave us again? This and your duties aren't something you can walk in and out as you please, without letting us know and STILL wanting to be one of the highest position in wiki. Sysops are the overseers, they MUST stay active, at least two of them, ALL of the time, and with you on staff, whenever me or Sima needed to leave, the other would handle 100% of the wiki's admin tasks.
Greater powers, greater responsabilities. If you plan to focus on everything else besides this community, you don't deserve a spot on the staff. We like here enough to make a commitement to give part of our personal lives to manage this place, and currently, your personal life with your new wife is (and really should be) your highest priority. Despite your wish to remain as a admin or no, I won't have someone in my ranks that's planning to leave someday shortly and all the while stays as a sysop. Everything you've been doing in the past SIX months (even before you went away) you can do without sysop powers. Honestly? The sysop badge was a ego boost above everything in your case. I did my part in letting you know you were demoted, so my duties were made. I expect you understand how you weren't able to meet yours. -- D. Cello 17:44, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Say what you want D.Cello. I worked hard on this wiki and committed myself completely to it. Now I committed myself to it again. But the demoting isn't the problem. It's how you demoted me that was unnecessary. You did not even bother to talk about any terms how I could have left myself, without getting demoted. Then all this wouldn't have happened. And ego boosting. You're one to talk, cause you boost your own ego with your position. And if that's really the case, of giving me the position of sysop as an ego boost. Well that's a mistake on your behalf, not mine. -- Altaïr 17:53, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Really, mate? Thrying to push the guilt to me? XD You had the sysop power, and you didn't want to let go. I never would give you a position for soemthign as petty and insgnificant as your ego. The wiki comes first. Remember that, always.
And I boost my ego with everything I do oO Even sleeping, Im more awesome than you can possible imagine.
And Al... it was a demotion, not a vacation. We didn't have to discuss anything. Your lack of action and explanation was what brought this down on yourself. When choosing a sysop, I and Sima pick someone that, time-speaking, we believe can and will stay a long time here, and you completely ruled out that possibilty, first by staying 4 months away without explaining, and then by saying you don't plan to stay here a lot anyway since you have other crucial duties in real life, like building a family. You were not using the sysop powers, that is a fact. If nothing, that is reason enough for you lose it and someone who needs it be given instead. My decision is not oging to change, and nothign you say can possible pass the guilt to me. between the wiki and you, now more than ever, I choose the wiki. -- D. Cello 18:11, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
You think that's what I'm trying to do. Your lack of knowledge concerning my absence amuses me. Really when I was speaking of leaving the wiki and building a family, I was speaking in long-term. And I did explain why I was away for such a long time, so don't say I just left without saying anything. By the way I'm not defending myself for you, but for other members to see that I am not to blame of what you accuse me of. But forget it, your lack of decency and respect to even discuss this disgusts me. No it's your decision alone, cause you're the 'MAN' here... Pathetic... -- Altaïr 18:19, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
You said you would be gone a month for your honey moon. 4 months later, you still were inactive. Soon after you're demoted, you come back bitching? XD
Al, face it: you're off the staff. Curse all you want, offend me all you want. You're out. -- D. Cello 18:29, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Whatever Marcel... Whatever makes you sleep better. I'm done with this nonsense. -- Altaïr 18:31, February 10, 2011 (UTC)

Amazing images! Edit

Hey Al, those panoramic images you have been adding are absolutely amazing, where did you find 'em? Or did you make them yourself. Regardless of you methods, they are fantastic! --Sick-steeN 22:29, February 14, 2011 (UTC)

No, I found them and I'm glad I did, cause in original size they are huge. So I'm glad to have them and to insert them in the Wiki. Just is shame you can't watch them larger when you click on the thumb. -- Altaïr 22:37, February 14, 2011 (UTC)
Wahey! I found a way to do it Al. Just click on the thumbnail to get the name of the image, then copy and paste the name into the search bar. It will open the hosting page where you can click on the image and zoom in to view the images in all their GIGANTIC glory! :D Wahey! Have a try! --Sick-steeN 22:46, February 14, 2011 (UTC)
Well I would have to resize them, cause they are really too big. Something more to the size of 1500 px or something. -- Altaïr 22:50, February 14, 2011 (UTC)
Or, much more simpler, you can just click on the image once and then click on the magnifying glass on the bottom-right corner, taking you to the full resolution page. :D --THIEF 04:35, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Well if that's all it takes to see them full size I guess then there is not much point to re-size them lol. Just checked out. Okay, that should settle the problem then. -- Altaïr 10:24, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

I've found a few of them on the internet too! Never got round to implementing them though. Campbell430 16:48, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Well I found them on Deviantart. I'm member there, and member of Assassin's Creed artist groups, so it was no coincidence I bumped into them. -- Altaïr 17:55, February 15, 2011 (UTC)
I added the Forli one which was taken by the same guy that took the Rome and Monteriggioni ones, but I found them on Flickr. Campbell430 16:58, February 15, 2011 (UTC)

Oh dear, Edit

Just saw the picture of you on the top of the Santa Maria del Fiore and I must say, I'm seriously impressed - for how long did you have to queue to get up there?

After having already been in Venice, I went on a trip to Florence this summer (not because of AC, but I used the chance to visit San Gimignano and Monteriggioni besides some other cities as well :P) and I eventually gave up queueing there, my tourist guide books warned me about it too. So i just checked out the interiour and climbed the campanile instead. Is it worth the waiting?

It was a long time waiting. I can't remember how long, and the climb goes slow, but the view is astonishing. You really feel like you are at viewpoint. It's only a shame I couldn't take a leap of faith down lol. So yeah it is worth it. I'm already talking to my wife of going back to Florence. Venice wasn't really our thing, though still very beautiful. Also probably to Pisa. -- Altaïr 19:47, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
I can imagine that, but the view from the campanile was amazing as well - and I did not have to queue at all, just watch my steps when climbing it, since some tourists apparently vomitted on the stairs. I have to say, I personally prefered Venice. I've been there before the release of AC2 and one of the first things I could think of was seriouly "An AC would be epic here". Anyway, Pisa is fantastic too, only crowded with tourists. If you want to go on the Leaning Tower, prepare to wait at least a half day. StPerkele 14:40, February 27, 2011 (UTC)

Hey. :) I used some of your pictures on my page. Just thought I should let you know. I hope you don't mind. Guardian Assassin 22:52, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

No, I got no copyrights on any images, though I would appreciate if you didn't use the ones I made myself, without permission. Thanks. -- Altaïr 14:26, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

i uploaded animus edition pic 1st

stop changing it to the same version

Because it wasn't the same version: This is originally your version:

20110607071531!ACR_ANIMUS_EDITION_HERO.jpg My version replaced yours, because the name of the file was the same and now you're trying to claim the credit for yourself. And sign your posts. -- Altaïr 15:18, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

i'm Rapnoize. ok, look at the file history. number 3. Rapoize 516kb and then only your the same comes

All I know is that I saw a blurred version compared to mine. I replaced it with two versions. The first one had a different name, but I wasn't pleased because it hid the ubisoft logo. Then I found a version with the same name as yours which replaced your version, cause the site mentioned there was already a file with the same name. -- Altaïr 15:23, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

and it was the same file. look here

It's not the same file, yours was blurred. Like I said the file had the same name and replaced yours, which is why it now looks sharp, because again I replaced it. -- Altaïr 15:27, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

you know, you can click on the file and see how it was

now look at mine which is 516 kb from june 7 and at yours

and you'll see - it is the same file!

Your file doesn't exist anymore cause it was replaced with mine, that's why it shows up as the same. In the end what are we arguing about. An image, it's in prime condition and that's best for the wiki, cause I can't keep arguing with a person who has ego problems. -- Altaïr 16:56, June 17, 2011 (UTC)

looks at the adress bar or google cache. anyway, it was'nt blured or something. it was exact the same

Hey hi. How did you get the lucky edit badge?

Just by being lucky when editing. Just edit a lot, but not for the sake of it. Try to be as active as much as you can, but stay productive. And sign your posts next time. -- Altaïr 12:31, June 25, 2011 (UTC)

Were You A Staff Member? Edit

I'm just writing this message in the hopes that my curiosity will be satisfied, I was reading your talk page and it seemed to me that you have quite the reputation on the site. Were you a staff member? Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 22:59, June 4, 2012 (UTC)

Yes, I was an admin here, but that was a long time ago. -- Altaïr 12:35, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
Forgive me for peering but... Was it on your own vocation to step down as administrator or was it because of other reasons? Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 23:31, June 5, 2012 (UTC)
No, I was demoted because I was often not active because of my personal life. -- Altaïr 01:28, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
(Somehow it says you were demoted because of arguments with D.Cello concerning disagreements - Though I can deduce why, one is a cover for the real reason) So, your personal life got in the way of your administration position... Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 01:48, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
I was demoted for both reasons, but I edited my reply and removed that I had disagreements with D.Cello, because I felt there was no need to beat up a dead horse. -- Altaïr 02:02, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Well D.Cello isn't an administrator of the site anymore, guess things have changed. In fact, he's retired. I don't even think he comes on anymore. Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 02:07, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Well you can read the whole story earlier here in this profile. You'll see a big argument here. Anyway we were both kind of in the wrong. Truth of the matter is that I was going to step down if my inactivity was going to be a problem as an admin, because I was often absent for personal reasons. D.Cello became defensive in why he demoted me and things got out of hand, because I got too personal and he got too egotistical imo. As I said if you want to know the complete story you can read it further back here. Now I'm sure the staff is doing a good job and I'll be honest. The fact D.Cello is retired feels like a relief. -- Altaïr 02:13, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Sima and Vatsa are doing a wonderful job along with everyone else, they're passionate fans. Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 02:26, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Well I knew Sima well. He was there from the beginning and someone I could always rely on. It's good he's still here. I'm not that familiar with Vatsa, but I know he does a good job too. I'm glad it's in good hands, cause even though I'm not active (Well mostly of D.Cello now ironically) I still care about the Wiki. -- Altaïr 02:37, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Good friends then, hm? I can relate to that. I've read the argument that you had with him and it seems to me that you were both having trouble controlling your emotions. While I also prefer Sima over Vatsa, I still think they're great and equal. D.Cello struck me as someone who was laid back and passionate to the core, now it seems he was pompous. Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 02:50, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
Sure, I don't know you very well but I hope you enjoy improving this wiki, as I did. I had lots of fun with it and sometimes it could feel like work to, but at least you felt like you were doing something good, something productive. And the way you summed up D.Cello... That's almost exactly what I thought of him. I can't say he was the villain in this plot. lol. He was very passionate about the Wiki and worked well. But over all I just couldn't cooperate with him anymore for those last reasons you summed up. -- Altaïr 12:54, June 6, 2012 (UTC)
It's a fair enough presumption as well. I enjoy editing the Wiki where I see fit but I also understand that all the information has to be relevant so I make sure to only complete minor edits such as mentioning something new in a trivia section or rewowrding a paragraph to correct grammar and spelling. Anything as small as that can lead to something bigger in the end. Supreme Master AssassinIL Mentori 16:47, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

Hey im quite new to the wiki and just wanted to ask if there was a way which I could see when a new article is created (so I can always catch up on things)...

By the way I just asked you because I thought your picture was pretty awesome haha

please answer

Kingauditore 12:19, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

Best probably is to keep a good eye on wiki activity in general, because not only the new articles need to be edited. Also on the wiki activity you can observe the 'hot spots' on the right, which are the articles which get most edited, and mostly those are the new articles. -- Altaïr 21:34, June 12, 2012 (UTC)

Hello Altair. how have you been my friend? i just wanted to stop by and say hi.

Welshman vs. Individual Edit

In my view, whether the developers mentioned it or not, a place or country of birth has no effect on your personality. I removed Welshman for individual in an aim to remove the repetition of "Welsh" in the first paragraph of Edward's biography. Slate Vesper (talk) 18:48, March 7, 2013 (UTC)

Noted. I respect that, so I'll leave it at that. -- Altaïr 19:06, March 7, 2013 (UTC)

ACIV Images Edit

Hey Altaïr, some images that you uploaded are in danger of being deleted. If you can't source them, just leave the source here and I/someone will source them. Stormbeast The Helpful Place

I scout so many sites. Just strange they need a source. Do they doubt they're genuine? Anyway I think this is the one, because it's the same size and they have no logo. Other sites will post them in the same size but with logos or you might find different sites with the exact same images: -- Altaïr 22:43, March 9, 2013 (UTC)
No, I do not doubt their geniuity. But the policy states to source and categorize all the uploaded images, we've had it for a year or so now. Otherwise they get put up for deletion, most often by yours truly. --Kainzorus Prime Walkie-talkie 01:29, March 10, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, thx. It should be fine now. I talked to Sima. He showed me the template, which I inserted for the images that got deleted, so it should be fine now. Unless that template wasn't inserted properly. -- Altaïr 02:52, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

A reminder to source your images. We'd hate for those nice collections to disappear.
P.S. I'm still trying to work out what to do with Black Island. I'll probably figure it out by morning. Stormbeast The Helpful Place 04:41, March 26, 2013 (UTC) for the later images. For the gamestop edition I had to resort a smaller image from -- Altaïr 04:50, March 26, 2013 (UTC)
See, I tried to source it again, but I wasn't given an oppertunity to insert one for the last Blackbeard image (not the trailer one) -- Altaïr 01:54, March 27, 2013 (UTC)

hi you probable know who i am. i am the creator of the kol kerz-tak and malek kriya pages. a question. can you help me with my profile page here. how do i put those userboxes, and can you do a photoshop picture for me, if you can.

Hiatus Edit

You are back from hiatus? I saw your message to Storm. Happy to have you back. Altaïr Skywalker 47Agency Laptop 13:13, August 15, 2013 (UTC)

Thx for the welcome, however I don't think I'll be frequently active. As much as I like to devote my time to the wiki, I need my time to devote on other things (have a new kitchen coming etc...). It's been a while that I've been active, but maybe with Black Flag coming I'll be coming more. Haven't decided what version to get yet. Likely the Skull Edition, though I might aim for something higher. We'll see. -- Altaïr 20:21, August 15, 2013 (UTC)
Good luck and may you get the Buccaneer edition of Black Flag :P Altaïr Skywalker 47Agency Laptop 10:37, August 17, 2013 (UTC)
Thx, though I can always hope for the Black Chest Edition lol! Who knows my wife maybe wants to surprise me. Will take a while to play, cause I'm not even sure when I'm getting a PS4 and that is coming out next year anyway. We're also getting a Wii U. Have to be careful with my money. So likely it will just be the Skull Edition. We'll see. -- Altaïr 12:40, August 17, 2013 (UTC)
I do not realise why all users prefer PS4 instead of Xbox ONE. By the way, your wife plays games? And she may buy a special edition to surprise you? Darn, not according to our customs XD Altaïr Skywalker 47Agency Laptop 12:42, August 17, 2013 (UTC)
Yeah She playes games. Mostly RPG's, but she likes Assassin's Creed too, mostly the first and second one. That's why I was glad that they wanted the feel of the cities the same feeling as ACII. Stucturewise it's also very similar, because the streets were too wide in ACIII and the frontier was a bit too boring imo. So I have more hope for this one. We were even joking on our honeymoon of climbing the Duomo and such. I did climb the Duomo, but I used the stairs lol. -- Altaïr 13:25, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

Lol indeed XD! Altaïr Skywalker 47Agency Laptop 13:27, August 17, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, Altaïr,

Thank you for finding that high-res image of Elise, I was scouring the internet for that yesterday. If you don't mind, could you source your image though? Otherwise it'll get deleted and that'd be a shame. Thanks for reading :) Crook The Constantine District 08:22, July 30, 2014 (UTC)

I sourced it, though I'm known to make errors before, so if you could check it, I'd appreciate it. Thanks.-- Altaïr 08:25, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
Looks good to me. Thanks for the quick response :) Crook The Constantine District 08:29, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
No problem. Thing is I did it in the wrong order. I inserted the image in the article, published it and afterwards sourced it, though in between the image was left unsourced of course for a brief time. And is it just me, but does Elise look like an older version of Ellie (The Last of Us) -- Altaïr 08:46, July 30, 2014 (UTC)
