'[outgoing transmission]

'[caller id = private] '[-] This isn't a good time, Daniel.

'[+] It can't wait.

'[-] You already said that to the receptionist.

'[+] Yeah, well, you know why I'm calling, don't you.

'[-] I don't have time to play 20 Questions now, Daniel.

'[+] I know you lost him.

'[-] Do you?

'[+] Don't do this to me, Warren.
Warren Vidic

Warren Vidic

'[-] Alright. You know. Who told you?

'[+] Never mind that. I have my sources. When were you planning 'on telling me?

'[-] Telling you? This has nothing to do with you.

'[+] Nothing to– Damn it, Warren! I'm the one who delivered him. 'Right into your lap! Without me you'd never have found him.

'[-] [silence]

'[+] And a week later you lost him... Then failed to get him back.

'And you personally took part in the assault! What the hell's going 'on?

'[-] Desmond Miles is not your problem. He is mine.

[+] Yeah, I'm sure he is. Great job at the hideout, by the way. At 'least you survived. That's something, I guess.

[-] [sigh] I'm getting tired of this, Daniel. I'm hanging up now.

'[+] Wait! I'm coming to Rome. I'll get him back for you.

'[-] You will do no such thing.

[+] But–

[-] I'll have need of you soon, Daniel. For now, just hang tight.

'[+] Warren–

'[-] The situation is under control. Trust me.

'[+] Trust you. Right. OK... I trust you.

'[-] Goodbye, Daniel.

[+] Yeah, goodb–

[signal interrupted]

Summary of Conversation

If you don't know, this is a conversation between Warren Vidic & Daniel Cross. Daniel Cross is one of my all time favourite AC characters & I, personally, believe that he will play a large part in AC3. The amount of spotlight focused on Daniel Cross, during AC: Initiates, has lead me to believe that he will play a large part during AC3. Did anyone notice how much he was eager to hunt down Desmond? Maybe he wants to help him? Or maybe he just wants to kill him personally?

Witness

Read this...

At 12:08pm, in Florence, Italy, Adriano Maestranzi sent another e-mail to William Miles, stating that his "associate" had returned safely, and cryptically referring to the attack in Whistler being led by Daniel Cross.

Summary of 'Witness'

This, to me, implies that Daniel is actively hunting down assassin teams. Coincidence? I don't think so. I see this as Ubisoft trying to tell us something. Will Daniel be actively tracking down Desmond throughout the course of AC3? So many questions...

[+] Cross.

[-] Daniel, I’m glad I caught you.

[+] Doc? Is that you?

[-] Yes, I–

'[+] I know, I know. You miss me too much. You can’t bear the thought of spending another minute without me in your life.

[-] I–

[+] Alright, alright... I know why you’re calling. I’m sorry I missed our last appointment. Couldn’t be helped. I’ll be there next week, OK?

[-] That’s not why I called.

[+] It’s not? Then you really do miss me!

[-] This is serious.

[+] You’re breaking my heart, Doc. You know that. Breaking my heart.'

[-] [pause] Tell me, Daniel. How are you feeling?

[+] Swell. Just swell. Things were real bad for a while you know, after the incident, but I’m fine now. Thanks to you. You needn’t worry.

[-] I heard you refused to go on assignment.

[+] [silence]

[-] This isn’t like you–

[+] Yeah, well, I’m not going back there.

[-] Back where?

[+] Denver! The bastard’s want to send me back to Denver! Can you believe that? After what happened... I’m never setting foot in that place again.

[-] But y–

[+] You heard me, Doc. Never!

[-] They need you. They really n–

[+] Never! [pause] Never again... Never again...

Summary of Conversation

I found this conversation to be very interesting. It seems Daniel is still very childish sometimes. I wonder what happened in Denver? He seemed pretty angry about the whole situation.

Spoilers!

POSSIBLE SPOILERS TO THE PLOT OF AC3 BELOW! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Some of you may know that one of the hidden achievements for AC3 is called Criss Cross. To most AC fans they probably would just think that this means the templars; I don't. I think this is related to Daniel. Why else would they have so much focus on him for the build up to AC3? Although, I could be completely wrong & this could just be a take on the Templar cross. Having Daniel as the main antagonist would just make so much more sense than Warren. Just think about it. Why have a frail old man when you can have Desmond's equivilant in Templar form? The achievement also talkes about a skyscraper. Does this mean we could be facing Daniel on a skyscraper? Anyway, I really hope they use this opportunity to take Daniel somewhere. I find his character extremely interesting, and I think it's stupid not to advance his role in the AC universe.

Assassin's & Templars (Good or Bad)

I would also like to bring to your attention a conversation me & Sima were having about weather Templars & Assassins are good or bad...

Sima - And again the line between 'good' and 'bad' is drawn between the Assassins and Templars. It seems that Assassin's Creed, Assassin's Creed: Revelations and especially Assassin's Creed: The Chain didn't do much effect to convince people that neither faction is 'good' or 'bad.' If you aren't convinced at this point, you really need to go get The Chain.

'There is nothing to suggest that Daniel will turn good before he dies, or even if he dies. People just like to speculate; given his past experiences with the Assassins and the common assumption that Templars are bad, people believe that Daniel will 'see the light' and turn on the Templars. While I wouldn't be very surprised and I kind of would like Daniel to get some payback on Vidic for what Vidic did to him during his youth, he seems to have become one of Vidic's closest friends and colleagues by now and I have difficulty seeing it happening. Daniel is a very interesting character, but I rather wanted him to be 'special' in his own right, not be so intertwined with Desmond's story. I don't really like the approach they're taking right now.

Me - Daniel is the Templar's version of Desmond. He is also one of my favourite characters. And why are people still believing the templars are bad & the assassins are good? I personally believe they are both as bad as each other. This is how the Templars would have things...

'1. Mercilessly oppress the people.

'2. Take away their free will.

'Final verdict - Fewer deaths & no wars.

'This is the assassins...

'1. Protect the people by killing others.

'2. Teach them about how they should live their lives.

'Final verdict - Lots of deaths & plenty of wars.

'Neither is right...

Sima - Who said the Templars mercilessly oppress people? The Templars are authoritarians, yes, but they strive for a benevolent dictatorship, not a brutal one... The Assassins are just as brutal, but don't appear as such since they are the protagonist faction. Both want peace and what's best for humanity, they simply have different ideals and a different approach to it. Neither is more 'evil' or brutal than the other.'Look at Ezio in Assassin's Creed: Revelations. He caused the deaths of several innocent civilians just to get inside Constantinople's arsenal, killed Tarik Barleti because he merely thought Tarik was a Templar, caused the asphyxation of numerous civilians inside Derinkuyu just to draw Manuel Palaiologos out, and caused the death of Yusuf and likely some other Assassins just to protect one woman he cared about. The Assassins in Assassin's Creed: The Chain were willing to torture Innokenti Orelov to make Nikolai come with them, just to make him tell them about his vision at Tunguska and to continue serving the Brotherhood. This led to a fight in which Nikolai's legs were both shot and he was severely abused by the Assassins... Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed III: Liberation apparently will emphasize this even more. Think I will just put "Neither Assassins or Templars are good or evil" at the end of any post I make from now on, maybe then the message will get through to everyone.

Me - Ok, Sima, I was not saying that the templars will oppress people once they are in control, nor do they do it in the 21st century. I was mainly refering to the way they were treated, for example, in the crusades (AC1). The people were starved, murdered & enslaved. This was all for the benefit of the templars.'And after the chain, can you understand why some people still view the assassins as saints? In reality, the assassins were ignorant assholes.

That was the end of the conversation.

Conclusion

Well, that's it. I will find it interesting to hear your responses.
