Assassinews 27-04-'16 — Ubisoft and Patrice Désilets resolve differences over 1666: Amsterdam, lawsuit withdrawn

As of yesterday, at least from my timezone as I post this, it has come to light that Ubisoft and Patrice Désilets have agreed to let bygones be bygones, to which Ubisoft have relinquished the right of ownership of the intellectual property known as 1666: Amsterdam back to Patrice. Ubisoft had initially come into possession of 1666 after the company had purchased the IP from THQ following the latter's dissolution, following which Ubisoft had removed Patrice from the project and then subsequently put it on development hold, sparking the legal battle between the two.

In response to this recent gesture of good will, Désilets has withdrawn his lawsuit against Ubisoft from the Superior Court of Québec, and stated: "I'm glad Ubisoft and I were abl…

It has emerged from Kotaku that Ubisoft currently have three Assassin's Creed games in production, one of them very likely being Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and two as of yet unnamed titles.

Responding to this, Ubisoft has issued this statement:

Subsequently, the title remains 'on hold'.

What are your thoughts? Please leave them in the comments section below.

Fanon Popularity

Since its inception, I've noticed that Fanon has become something popular by the users of the wiki, since it now seems that the vote for Featured Fanons has been brought in.

However, while it's a great thing that everyone is contributing their own bit of creativity, I can see that some might get carried away in writing their epic tales, and others might not be able to read what makes them so awesome when grammar becomes an issue.

I'm no English teacher or anything, but I'd like to say that if any user wants me to go over their Fanon stories and structure them better, I'd be happy to do that. The reason I'm putting myself out there is so that when it comes to the Feature Fanon vote, your story is going to be judged for what it is, instead of …

My skepticism about George Washington

What I find odd about the AC3 Assassin Connor and George Washington is that if Connor is an ally to George, considering he sides with the Americans, and that George probably isn't a Templar, what will him having the Apple achieve?

If the Assassins are for free will, but George becomes the President of the United States, it can be said that George can use the Apple to influence people's thoughts, leading to his election/assignment to the role. Considering he also passes the Apple on to other Presidents, and that cycles each time with a new president, maybe he could be a Templar.

Then again, George W. Bush was a puppet for Abstergo Industries and Al Gore was backed by the Assassins, which throws question to the Assassins' ways. If they are sup…
