I was reading an interesting article today which said that Ubisoft Montreal’s Alex Amancio has stated that the next entry will be “the grand finale of the Desmond cycle.”

He also went on to state that, “Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is the end of the Ezio cycle and the Altair cycle, and it really sets up what’s to come from the grand finale of the Desmond cycle.”

In other words, the end of Revelations is going to arguably have a juicier ending than last year’s Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. And while the game after will supposedly be the final time we see Desmond, it may not necessarily be the end of the franchise as a whole (in fact, don’t count on it according to other Ubi team members). This is a series that has a very open-ended story, and the exit of one character could see the entry of another very easily. My question is where would you like to see the Assassin’s Creed series go to next? Feudal Japan, Ancient China, Egypt or even the fabled Eden?
