Just a question… In the French version of ACII, the Shroud is PE36 instead of 66. Translation mistake or… what ? Since there is supposedly only 50 pieces, wouldn't it make more sense ? Alarielle 12:24, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

It would make more sense, yes. That's a piece of info worth noting, thanks for bringing it up :D Feel free to write it down on the Trivia section (Both here and the PoE page) --WarClownWanna Talk? 12:33, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

I really feel that this entire article is about the real-world Shroud of Turin and not the Shroud of Assassin's Creed. It needs to be re-written. 98.192.42.30 19:23, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

I agree partially : we know Jesus had the Shroud, and so we can assume that it is the Shroud of Turin. But we could put that information in a separate section of the article. And, don't we have any in-game picture of the Shroud, AC-style ? (sorry, I don't have any screenshots) Edit : forgot to sign. Alarielle 16:20, October 1, 2010 (UTC)

Assassin Associated Ownership[]

I was playing Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy on Facebook, and when I've unlocked "Desperate Measures" in Chapter 4 (fifth "sequence"), I've clicked on "Alone" mission and first comment (right from picture) was: "My Brothers have travelled from Agnadello to greet me, swords drawn! They know why I am here. They will not allow me to use the Shroud! None shall stand in my way!". Does it mean Perotto Calderon had the Shroud? I've used GameStop exclusive code from GameStop site on Facebook, so maybe entering it unlocked that sequence. Could someone check it? (sorry for language, I'm from Poland)

I'm not entirely certain, concidering that I haven't gotten that far in Project Legacy due to my computer not being in the best shape, but I must ask you to sign your post next time, if you can. Assassin-Rayne 20:12, October 6, 2010 (UTC)

I am not (and I don't want to) registered in Wikia.

I can confirm that info, just got to that chapter. In a previous chapter he had already mention it, but only now he revealed that it was the Shroud. I recall something the "The Order had an artifact...*something*something". Can't find now that part so can't give source. Sekuiya 00:38, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

Here is the Shroud as shown in the Project Legacy. Already upload it to the wiki.

I don't have a Facebook so I can't confirm anything on my own so I'll ask. Which Giovanni Borgia is that in the picture? Is it Lucrezia's son or her eldest brother, Giovanni Borgia, as a child. I'm guess the former? User:Durmer Darc 22:02, October 7, 2010 (UTC)

Lucrezia's and Perotto's son, Giovanni Borgia. You know, they actually had a child in history, but the child wasn't taken away by Perotto. Look at Lucrezia Borgia's article on Wikipedia, under "Affair with Perotto." -- Master Sima Yi 05:05, October 8, 2010 (UTC)

Chapter 2 "Playing Dead" and Chapter 3 "Under Our Noses"[]

Both these new chapters give new insights in the Shroud powers. It seems it has more power than simple healing and somehow a will of itself. I'm starting to wonder if only Desmond's bloodline are able to use the true powers of the Shroud, or at least use and don't feel the side-effects, for obvious reasons. This part is all speculation of my part since I have no idea in what situation Giovanni Borgia was after using it, if it was near as horrible as Niccolò di Pitigliano was. If Perotto was part of Desmond's bloodline maybe Giovanni is alright. Hope this place is right place to discuss this. Sekuiya 23:06, October 28, 2010 (UTC)

Why 'PE' isntead of 'PoE'?[]

I know it's a pretty minor thing but the common short hand for 'Piece of Eden' has been 'PoE'. I don't think it needs to be any shorter than that, just sayin. --Jedted 21:57, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

I believe it was called "PE" by the Templars in the AC2 Glyphs. However, it's called PoE by the Assassins at the beginning of Brotherhood. -- Master Sima Yi 22:12, December 19, 2010 (UTC)

Project Legacy[]

Hi,

In the Mnemonics sets of the Holiday set, there's one mnemonic set of the Shroud, with an image of Cesare right next to it as a required mnemonic... Does this mean Cesare is not dead, but revived by the shroud??

Galaick 10:01, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

No, it means he owned it. -- Master Sima Yi 10:59, December 23, 2010 (UTC)
I wonder how it came into his possesion. To actually know that, we should know what happened with the shroud between the moment that calderon used it on his son, and when it pops up in the hands of di Pittigliano. Maybe PL will tell us that later. EXistenZ! 20:49, December 23, 2010 (UTC)

Project Legacy - New information about the Shroud[]

Don't have the time to edit the article, but there is quite a lot of interesting information about the Shroud in the Project Legacy Holiday pack, more specificially the \sec_level_04\unsorted\ . Just to list everything:

1. The assassins who are responsible for murdering Caesar did also possess the Shroud, as they tried to resurrect the dead Brutus with it. However, it did not really work. And then Jesus somehow got it about 60 years later or so.

2. Some unknown assassins (most likely one of them being the son of Domenico Auditore) stole the Shroud form Geoffroy de Charny and hid it unter the villa in Monteriggioni.

3. An american templar (considering that he was using an american weapon) bought the Shroud from somebody in Milan. Probably during WW2, although (according to the Wikipedia article) the M1917 was used during WW1..

Theory[]

Two things. One is a minor correction, and one is a theory.

First, it was not Domenico who stole the Shroud and placed it under Monteriggioni. These events happened around 1350, roughly. This is decades after Domenico died.

And my theory... well history shows us two knights named Geffroi de Charny. The first was a Templar knight who was burned along with Jacques de Molay (last Grand Master of the knights, and he had the Shroud). The second came decades later, he was a french knight who is the first recorded owner of the Turin Shroud.

Well... the Shroud revives people. Could these knights be one and the same? It's quite a coincidence otherwise. Some people nowadays even think the later Geffroi was the nephew of the former, and that in this fashion he inherited the Shroud from the disbanded Templars.

You should sign your posts. Anyway, very interesting theory, but the Shroud, as revealed in PL, can't bring people back from death (the example in question being Brutus). Also, we don't know when Domenico died; he was still alive as of 1320, when he bought the Villa. Guardian Assassin 07:02, May 12, 2011 (UTC)

Animus?[]

Is the Shroud the basis of the Animus technology?

It's stated that the Animus was reverse-engineered from a PoE but doesn't say which one, and since the Shroud has been known to give visions of past lives it's possible the Templars managed to harness that ability after acquiring the Shroud in the mid-20th century.

Leonardo's Forgery[]

Hey, I don't play Assassin's creed 100% to find all the clues in the game, but I've got some information from the real world that the developers may have seen as well, and used to help write the story.

There's a documentary by the BBC (I think) about the Shroud of Turin. Supposedly the image of the man on the Shroud is warped in a manner consistent with the parallax error when a photograph is taken through a pin-hole camera. The theory the researchers have is that Leonardo Da Vinci (because nobody else was playing with cadavars and optics) created a photograph of a cadavar by hanging it from the feet outside a darkened room with a small hole in the wall, and a peice of cloth soaked in silver nitrate in the darkened room.

As you know, Leonardo Da Vinci is a recurring character and friend of Ezio Auditore. Perhaps in a future game we'll see Ezio steal the real shroud and replace it with a fake created by Leonardo.

You should be able to find more about the theory and the documentary by doing a web search for, "leonardo da vinci shroud of turin photograph". I'm not going to check back here, but I just wanted to give you guys this clue I found.

It isn't alluded to in the Assassin's Creed series, so we can't use it. Slate Vesper (talk) 14:51, November 8, 2012 (UTC)

Who's Body? And Where did it go?[]

The Body marked on the surface of the shroud might be Brutus',not jesus', because he was one of the first people who used it and got wrapped. And did the disciples really recover the shroud? Since it was stolen by Templars from Jesus & on the 14th century, the shroud is owned again by a Templar? Lucassassin (talk) 11:17, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

How come the shroud brought Brutus back (barely) for only 5 seconds (dead bodies often do that in morgues...I forgot what it's called when the reanimate for a few seconds) but Jesus fully resurrected?  Maybe he really was the son of God and the shroud intervention happened to be the biggest coincidence in the world? ParadisecityXO (talk) 17:20, November 14, 2013 (UTC)

Pretty sure that Jesus never got ressurected, considering that the Templars had him crusified explicitly to steal the Shroud from him. Not to mention the fact that it's been unambiguously confirmed that the Shroud cannot ressurect dead people. The Wikia Editor (talk) 1:02, November 14, 2015 (UTC)

Multiple artifacts[]

As I feared suspected, there are multiple mentions of "a Shroud" and I believe a more direct statement that there are multiple of these artifacts somewhere in Syndicate. From what little of the Assassin intel I've obtained I gathered that Gramática had a Shroud in 2012, but as they're searching for a new one in 2015, I assume the past one was lost. Fair to say that there are multiple Shrouds, no? -- Master Sima Yi Talk 11:29, October 24, 2015 (UTC)

It's pretty obvious now that there are multiple shrouds. How will we know which is which? The Shroud in Syndicate is obviously a different one from the one in Project Legacy... -- Zero-ELEC (talk) 15:37, October 24, 2015 (UTC)

Been gathering audio files now, and the Shroud from Project Legacy is the 'original', in which Consus' conscious is stored. It's why Giovanni Borgia, William Woodman, and Jason, were 'possessed' by Consus. It was in Gramática's possession in 2012, so it's not the same one as the one in Syndicate. -- Master Sima Yi Talk 15:46, October 24, 2015 (UTC)
