Move to Order of the Ancients[]

If "Egyptian Rite" is really a conjectural name, this article should be moved to the confirmed name of Order of the Ancients. The only possibility of "Egyptian Rite" possibly being confirmed would be in the original Assassin's Creed comic series. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 06:14, August 2, 2017 (UTC)

I've read the original comic series and the term "Egyptian Rite" is never actually said, they are only referred to as "Templars". It makes sense, since no other Templar Rites featured within the story. This is kind of the same thing as the conundrum with the Roman Brotherhood, who called themselves the Liberalis Circulum during their own time. I propose that, at the moment, we wait for the game to be released. Perhaps they will be called the Egyptian Rite by someone in modern day. The Wikia Editor (talk) 10:33, August 2, 2017 (UTC)
You're right, it is best to wait, especially since moving pages back and forth sometimes causes errors and complications. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 08:43, August 2, 2017 (UTC)

I think it's time we make the move. The Order of the Ancients would be both more relevant and the sourced name. If it turns out the Templars in the modern-day do call it the Egyptian Rite, we can move it back. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 01:17, September 15, 2017 (UTC)

Alright, I suppose I've no problems with that. However, someone has already created that page, which means you'll have to merge the pages instead. The Wikia Editor (talk) 09:30, September 15, 2017 (UTC)
I actually still might be a little impatient here. Also, it's quite annoying to me that someone did that. -_- sigh. We can't properly merge the two articles because we would have to move the content from this article to the content at "Order of the Ancients", but we are actually supposed to move the history as well which otherwise would be left behind at the redirect page. Because of this, this article has to be actually renamed to "Order of the Ancients" which cannot be done while that article stands. We would either have to delete that article, then rename this there or we manually move the content to that article and merge their histories. I neither have the power to merge their histories or delete that article. This is exactly as I feared would happen. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 08:17, September 15, 2017 (UTC)
Wel;, some people online actually think the Order of the Ancients is actually the Instruments of First Will instead. Do we technically not have any confirmation the Order of the Ancients are actually the Templars? Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 08:19, September 15, 2017 (UTC)
I think the evidence we have so far suggests to them being the Instruments. But anyhow, we have no concrete evidence which would prove their true identity. I think we'd be better off keeping the two articles separate for now. Who knows what spoiler-y twist the game might contain, a la James Kidd-Mary Read reveal. Xangr8 (talk) 08:45, September 15, 2017 (UTC)
To be fair, we could treat this the same way we do the German Rite and the Brothers of the Cross. Technically, they're the same group, but the German Rite only operated as the Brothers of the Cross during a specific point in time, rather than their entire history. The same thing could be true of the Egyptian Rite and the Order of the Ancients. The Wikia Editor (talk) 12:00, September 16, 2017 (UTC)
I do understand that the point the others are making is that for all we know the Order of the Ancients might not be affiliated with the Templar Order at all as unlikely as that is. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 13:59, September 16, 2017 (UTC)
