Peyton Randolph (10 September 1721 – 22 October 1775) was a Virginia planter and public official, as well as the first President of the Continental Congress.

After serving as the President of the First Continental Congress, Randolph was elected President of the Second Continental Congress. He eventually fell ill however, and was succeeded by John Hancock following his death. In December 1776, the Congress ordered the construction of the USS Randolph, a frigate named for the deceased president.
