Otso Berg is someone that I gravitated to the second he was made prevalent on Initiates.  He's like the new Daniel only hopefully less disappointing.  He was the character we played as throughout Brotherhood and Revelations multiplayer and the man who captured Bill.  What I find curious is the huge amount of attention he was getting and then nothing.  He just vanished.  He's clearly something that will be expanded upon in the future.

Now this may be a stretch but here's what I think.  At the end of AC3 someone else is living Desmond's memories as he's dead.  We know this person is of Abstergo alligience.  Well they aren't going to throw Joe the shmuck into the animus to relive the lives of Desmond's ancestors.  Way too much classified info and what not.  It's got to be a higher up, and probably some one who has some experience with the animus.  Say a Master Templar.  Say Otso Berg.  I'm almost positive we are playing as Otso during the pivots and maybe during the Tyranny of King Washington, not sure yet on that.  So in AC4 Otso has to relive Edward's memories after they retrieve all of Desmond's memories.  I think this is very plausible for two major reasons.

First, the new perspective.  AC has always wanted the Templars not to be painted as the bad guys.  Well I can't imaginine a better way than make a game from the Templar perspective while reliving an Assassin.  Plus it is a good explanation as a story teller for having Vidic killed in AC3.  It allows for a new cast as your pit crew instead of seeing the same old faces. (I wanna see Hasek)

Second, this is an excellent way to get Erudito involved in the main story.  If he's a Templar using Abstergo Animi we know Erudtio is getting involved.  It could even lead into the AC3 multiplayer character at some point.  Maybe even Otso getting his thoughts changed and joining the Assassins or Erudito.

There is so much potential in making Otso the new protagonist.  Come on Ubisoft, I've got faith in you. Pariah695 (talk) 03:33, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

Nice post! - Hakametal (talk) 04:47, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

I fully agree. As for The Tyranny of King Washington, when you load it up, the Abstergo Entertainment logo is shown inside an Animus corridor that is the same as that of the privatized Animus. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 06:43, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

Oh, didn't know there was an Entertainment logo in the corridor.  Haven't actually played it yet.  Then it's probably the AC3 multiplayer character I'd guess.  This being the experiment Alan mentioned.  Sima you're a living database on this stiff aren't you?Pariah695 (talk) 22:20, March 4, 2013 (UTC)

playing as Otso berg in the single player?.....no....you should play as an assassin. thats something that defines the series. Its not called "assassins creed" for nothin. although he could be an enemy in ac4. (117.221.227.10 15:44, March 6, 2013 (UTC))

Yeah this was my first idea when I saw the videos of the inner sanctum in Initiates. We also see the inner sanctum from Otso Bergs perspective so i totally agree with your theory about Otso being the new modern day protagonist. --Friibbe (talk) 12:17, March 10, 2013 (UTC)

It dosen't make sence to play as Otso in the modern Story.

1. He's not a reastch(bad English) analyst from Abstergo Entertainment.

2. He's a part of Abstergo Industries and the inner sanctum like Daniel Cross. So it makes sence to see him, but not play him. Like DC he may be sent on missions.--ACsenior (talk) 06:28, March 11, 2013 (UTC)

Whaf if the new Modern Story Character was Desmond Son??? I was replaying AC Brotherhood , and when desmond finds Subject 16 in the animus, he says something about desmond having a son, right before dissapear. As far i know there nothing in AC series tha proves that Desmod had a son, but in AC Revelations, we can ear Desmond talking to a girl in the bar where he works (when we paly Desmond memories in Animus Island), perhaps he impregnated her and he never know. So by the end of AC 3 Desmond child would stiil be a kid, so it would pass some years before william miles finds about his existence and look for him so that he can stop juno and recover the Apple of Eden (since the Desmond son has the same First civilization genes that is father and can controll the apple power) but since he never know is father he never became a assassin ,so william would put him in the animus, so that he can see the memories of Edward Kennway and have is fight abilities( like what they do with desmond when he was reliving the memories of Ezio in AC 2) I even star to think if perhaps isnt  Desmond son reliving the last memories of Connor in AC3 and in the Tyranny of King Washington DLC. I dont know about you but this theory makes sense to me.

See, this is one of those areas Ubisoft messed up in AC3 leaving a lot left to be explained. And even if Desmond HAS impregnated some chick, I doubt the kid would be old enough to be experimented on in the Animus.  And honestly I find the 'Research Analyst at Abstergo' to be an interesting take for the series. And I've never been a fan of the, 'Desmond's son is viewing his memories' theory because it doesn't seem to fit the timeframe. Anyway, I wonder if the ACIV protagonist will be important or just a plot device for us to be in the Animus...  MysticAssassin (talk) 19:16, April 6, 2013 (UTC)MysticAssassin

I´m not saying that desmond son would be a kid by the time of AC4, i was saying that the AC4 modern story could hapens years after desmond Death, and his son would have perhaps 20 years. I dont know about you but this theory makes more sense for me that those that say the new protagonist is a templar or that desmond is somehow alive. Besides, i like that the assassins storys hapens in diferent periods in history but i always have curiosity in to know how a futuristic assassin look like. You dont???

Black Scorpion 08:42 April 12, 2013

Corey May confirmed that there is no son or anybody else viewing Desmond's memories or any such thing before the release of Assassin's Creed III. Desmond has no son. If the next game suddenly says "Desmond actually has a son whom we never clearly alluded to before but just wrote in and who you'll now be playing as", I know I'd throw a tantrum. Everybody has their own preference to where the story must go, but to me it is the worst possible story they could do. If they want him to have a son, then we should know he was conceived or if he already existed. Not just suddenly throw him in there. -- Master Sima Yi Clogs 07:59, April 12, 2013 (UTC)
