Right, so we now know through screenshots and trailers that Aveline and Connor both have dual hidden blades. My question is, how did they manage to get them? Ezio only had dual hidden blades because Leonardo decripted the Codex page which contained the information about it. Ezio's Assassin's and the Assassin's of Constantinople weilding dual hidden blades also makes sense because Niccolo Polo probably showed the Assassin's of Constantinople how to craft an additional hidden blade from where they adapted the Hookblade. So, how did the concept of the dual hidden blade reach the New World? I hope that AC3 explains this and it is not just a random assassin walks up and says "Oh I got another hidden blade for you!" because that would suck. Knowing Ubisoft, they will most likely explain it. 58.65.148.34 09:32, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

If Ubisoft would likely explain it, it seems a bit pointless to ask any questions now. We don't particularly know either, not much information has been released. Slate Vesper (talk) 09:40, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

idk maybe they learned how to mass produce them. Rotionpotion (talk) 19:36, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

What about all of the voyages to the new world? An Assassin could have left a blade there, and the local Assassins could have deconstructed it. Or something like that could have happened on one of the missions Ezio sents his apprentices on in Brotherhood. Ezio Auditore 1459 (talk) 23:09, July 12, 2012 (UTC)

Well, (SPOILERS) in [podcast], it was mentioned that an Asian Assassin (Shao Jun?) was responsible for bringing the Assassin Order's technology to the new world. If this Assassin was indeed Shao Jun, that would lead me to speculate that the box Ezio gave her in AC Embers contained the Codex, and the hidden blades were crafted using the knowledge of Altair and the abundant, untapped mineral resources of the New World. I would love it if this were the case... we would have the Codex as a single uniting thread between all three of our historical Assassins. 24.210.189.225 02:41, July 13, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry to burst your bubble but the box seemed really small to me. I'm sure everyone remembers the size of the pages from the Codex Wall, so I doubt it was the Codex. ~ GI Auditore Talk to me maybe? 10:34, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Well, it's just a second Hidden Blade isn't it? If they have a primary Hidden Blade, I don't see how they can't get a second one. The Leaping Eagle (talk) 10:39, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

I believe the question was where they got the tech for the hidden blade in the first place =P ~ GI Auditore Talk to me maybe? 10:48, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

"So, how did the concept of the dual hidden blade reach the New World?" I doubt it. The Leaping Eagle (talk) 12:22, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Id have thought that you wouldnt even need to have a connection for the concept of dual blades, once youve got the design for the hidden blades you can easily make as many as you need(provided you got hold of raw materials), and for a style of fighting that is primarily dual weilding weapons, the question Is, why not? if you can make two use 'em. Aegritudo (talk) 13:11, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Exactly. The Leaping Eagle (talk) 17:45, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

the assassins moved from somewhere in europe, probably from several places,to the colonies to set up an assassin guild.i believe that is actually missions you can send recruits to do in revelations, though just in europe and maybe asia, not sure.so naturally, with the assassins came the hidden blades, followed by the dual hidden blades.connor isn't a lone assassin,he's a full fledged member of the order,so after joining he probably got training and eventually earned a second hidden blade.i'm more interested about the origins of the new hidden blade 2.0.Assassin of 81 (talk) 23:05, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

@The Leaping Eagle, I believe that was simply an oversight on the part of the original poster. ~ GI Auditore Talk to me maybe? 10:38, July 16, 2012 (UTC)

@Gabriel Auditore, No actually it wasn't! (Yes, I am the original poster) I don't we will see Shao Jun in AC3 unless she is like 100 years old or something. 115.186.159.69 11:02, July 16, 2012 (UTC)

Uh, awkward =P Well, I still can't see your logic. If they already have the tech for one hidden blade, then why not just make another? Mass production baby! xD ~ GI Auditore Talk to me maybe? 11:32, July 16, 2012 (UTC)

Joking aside, AC2 says that the metal for the blade is pretty rare. But considering how rules are always broken to make better stabbity stabbity, It would make sense to give every assassin two hidden blades, Just like how Altair made everyone use poison.Rotionpotion (talk) 18:18, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

the rarity of the metals used in the blade was mentioned by altair in his codex, i think that its likely there have been new sources found since then, particularly in the new world. Aegritudo (talk) 19:01, July 21, 2012 (UTC)

the knowledge can be passed on through the order. I mean, leonardo or ezio may have copied the blueprints and sent them through europe, thus when the order moved to the new world they brougth the blades with them, or even a blueprint. Ezio even mentions in revelations he will present the hookblade to the european assassins, allowing them to produce and use them as well50.133.233.160 02:45, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry, but when was it confirmed that Connor had dual blades? Octagonapus97 (talk) 21:17, July 25, 2012 (UTC)

Yesh it was, you my friend must have been living under a rock 58.65.148.175 21:20, July 25, 2012 (UTC)

E3? 2 gameplays show them, one for IGN, one taken from a cam.Ezio Ibn La Ahad (talk) 21:25, July 25, 2012 (UTC)

At the AC III Comic-con panel, Alex Hutchinston stated that Connor has 2 hidden blades. Okanio Auditore (talk) 11:25, July 29, 2012 (UTC)

Can they Both rotate to become a dagger?

217.76.11.177 07:18, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

probably just the one rotates, with the second a more traditional blade, but i could be wrong we dont have much infor on the blades other than the new rotate feature. Aegritudo (talk) 16:56, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

i think they could rotate upwards, probably not but could chande up the animations a bit.
