In one Abstergo Dossier, Vidic claims that they had found a way to minimise the risk of madness while still retaining the ancestor's skills in the Animus, so yeah that could be the reason (though I don't think he can be trusted saying such things). -- IlMualim ^{Wanna Chat?} 16:36, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

I dont really believe that abstergo has minimised the risk of madness, considering vidics web of lies and history of twisting the truth for the companys ends, not to mention the way both he and abstergo use and abuse people. its more likely that its a fabrication to encourage employees in the program and give them a little sense of security and those who do go mad dissappear quietly, have an accident or comitt 'suicide' as leila marino did.
