Assassin's Creed is a series of action-adventure stealth video games developed mainly by Ubisoft and set in various historical periods. The series began with Assassin's Creed in 2007, and its most recent title is Assassin's Creed: Mirage, released in October 2023.

Al Mualim (English: The Mentor; 1135 - 1191) and often nicknamed the Old Man of the Mountain, was the Mentor of the Levantine Brotherhood of Assassins until his death in 1191, and the tutor to his eventual successor: Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. He was also, secretly, affiliated with the Templar Order.
Despite his desire to obtain an Apple of Eden, which led him to working with the Templars, an organization that was once his sworn enemy, Al Mualim's teachings and work had a positive influence on the Assassins until his betrayal of the Order in 1191. (read more...)
