Easter eggs

Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service? This article is in desperate need of a revamp. Please improve it in any way necessary in order for it to achieve a higher standard of quality in accordance with our Manual of Style.

Easter eggs are intentional hidden extras found within media that are often jokes or references. The Assassin's Creed series has its own Easter eggs, and many other games and media contain Easter eggs related to the series.

Assassin's Creed

Jamal

Upon leaving Masyaf for the first time, one of the Assassins in the Kingdom, Jamal, can be silently assassinated with no consequences. However, openly attacking him will prompt the other Assassins to attack Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

Jamal was the traitor inside the Order who, along with Masun, opened the gates for the Templar siege of Masyaf. He was originally featured as a mission target to be assassinated, but the mission was cut and he remained as a minor Easter egg.

Transformers

An arrangement of windows on certain buildings in Damascus and Acre are shaped like the front of G1 Optimus Prime, a character from the Transformers franchise, in truck form.

Assassin's Creed II

Batman

Occasionally while freerunning or climbing a building, a male bystander can be heard saying "Another capering crusader." This is a reference to the DC Comics superhero Batman, who uses stealth, has a tendency to run on rooftops, and is sometimes referred to as the "Caped Crusader".

Dummy keys

In the missions "Knowledge Is Power" and "Hunting the Hunter", looting any of the dummy targets will grant the player keys. However, these keys have no effect, being dummied out content.

Ghosts of the past

Returning to the Palazzo Auditore, a vision of Ezio Auditore's entire family can be seen. After meeting up with Niccolò Machiavelli, the player can return to the Palazzo and step into the center of the courtyard, where Ezio will enter into a state similar to his Eagle Vision and be able to see the figures of his parents and all of his siblings around the palazzo. The vision can only happen once.

Giant squid

A giant squid can be found within the Assassin Tomb beneath Santa Maria della Visitazione. If the player makes Ezio look into the water near the first lever for about one minute, a cutscene will play showing a large squid swimming by. If Ezio is made to look down again, a second cutscene shows a tentacle coming out of the water, nearly hitting Ezio.

Super Mario 64

When Ezio first meets his uncle, Mario Auditore, he greets Ezio with the phrase "It's-a-me! Mario!,", a reference to the first line spoken by Mario in Super Mario 64.

Motown

When throwing coins among the crowd, female bystanders will sometimes cry "Money! That's what I want!", which is a reference to the Motown song of the same name.

Palazzo Ducale

After using the "Super jump" or "Fence glitch" to get into the Palazzo Ducale di Venezia, the player can access the Doge's quarters where Carlo Grimaldi assassinated the Doge. The candle that Carlo Grimaldi and Doge Giovanni Mocenigo were playing under is unlit, but the chess pieces are in the same position as in that cutscene.

When going into these quarters, the sky and building outside will turn a blood red. This is likely not intentional, with the indoor lighting being misapplied to the exterior.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood

Castle Crashers

The title of the mission "Castello Crasher" is a reference to the indie beat-em-up game, Castle Crashers.

Grand Theft Auto

The achievement Grand Theft Dressage is a reference to the Grand Theft Auto game series.

Machiavelli's works

Shortly after Ezio successfully enlists the help of the three other faction guilds, Niccolò Machiavelli asks Ezio how he managed to acomplish this to which Ezio answers that it was "Virtù", a concept about the spirit of leadership that Machiavelli is historically known to have theorized. Similarly at the end of Sequence 7, Machiavelli states "I intend to write a book about you one day." to Ezio, who responds with "If you do, make it short." This is a reference to Machiavelli's famously brief book, The Prince.

Finally, an achievement entitled Il Principe (English: The Prince) is unlocked by achieving 100% synchronization for all of the memories, including the ones included within the 2011 downloadable expansion The Da Vinci Disappearance.

Mario references

In the mission "Femme Fatale", after Ezio has killed all of the guards and dragged Lucrezia Borgia towards Caterina Sforza's cell, she comments "Rescuing princesses from castles now?" This is a reference to the Super Mario Bros. games, where main protagonist Mario regularly rescues Princess Peach from antagonist Bowser's castle.

Accompanying this, one of the achievements is entitled Principessa in Another Castello. This translates to "Princess in another castle," which is part of the phrase Mushroom Retainers tell Mario in the original Super Mario Bros. game whenever he clears one of the early worlds' castles.

Other Mario references are found in the achievements Plumber, which shows the image of a Warp Pipe, and One-Man Wrecking Crew, a reference to the game Wrecking Crew, that features Mario as the protagonist, and similarly features a hammer, a classic Mario weapon.

Metal Gear

Just before reuniting with Leonardo da Vinci, Ezio comes across an anachronistic factory-made cardboard box, which momentarily appears to house Leonardo. This is a reference to the Metal Gear series, as the signature tactic of several protagonists from the series is to hide in a cardboard box.

A second, but much more notable reference is the Raiden Skin, available to those who complete every challenge in the Animus Virtual Training Program with at least a bronze medal, a reference to the character Raiden, who was trained in only virtual simulations.

Montreal

During the memory "Trojan Horse," while escorting Bartolomeo d'Alviano and his mercenaries disguised as French soldiers, a French guard asks Ezio which region of France he hailed from, to which he replies "Montréal." This is likely a reference to the location of Ubisoft Montreal, the main developers of the Assassin's Creed series at that point.

Alternatively, it could be a reference to the birthplace of Francisco Randez, the model after whom Desmond Miles was designed.

Project Legacy

On Lucy Stillman's computer monitors in the Sanctuary, the Memories menu of Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy is displayed, set to the memories of Mario Auditore.

Red footprints

If Desmond goes out to the front of the Villa Auditore and uses Eagle Vision, there are a number of red footprints that can be seen leading up to the Assassin insignia.

Various developers have stated ^{[citation needed]} that this was to lead the audience to where they needed to go, as some players weren't sure on what to do towards the start of the game. However, as red was supposed to signify something undesirable in Eagle Vision, it led to some confusion on the subject. As such, the developers have stated that the color of the footprints was an oversight, resolving the issue.

Assassin's Creed: Revelations

Hello World

In the very first sequence, Clay Kaczmarek talks to Desmond about the place in the Animus that he is currently in, Animus Island, stating that it was a test world first created by Rebecca Crane to gain a feeling for the confines of the machine. Afterwards, he proclaims "Hello World!", which is a reference to the common test program named a "Hello, World!" program, which is often used to familiarize a programmer with the basics of a programming language.

James Bond

The memory titled "The Spy Who Shunned Me" is a reference to the James Bond film, The Spy Who Loved Me.

Lingering enemy

Upon reliving the first memory of Altaïr, Jamal could be seen, again viewed in red when in Eagle Vision. This first occurred in the original game, Assassin's Creed.

Monty Python

In the memory "The Brawler", after the citizen is defeated three times in a row, he says "Ah... we will call it a draw, alright?" This is a reference to the movie Monty Python And The Holy Grail, in which the Black Knight challenges King Arthur to a sword fight. After both his arms and are were cut off, the Black Knight, still refusing to concede defeat, says "Alright. We'll call it a draw."

Muhammad Ali

Sometimes during fighting or after defeating guards, civilians will yell "Floats like a butterfly, stings like a scorpion!" This line also occurs when civilians enter fistfights with Ezio. The line is a reference to the famous boxer, Muhammad Ali, who described his fighting style as "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee."

Sarkozy Was There

In the Revelations novel, Ezio and Machiavelli discuss King Francis' claim that Leonardo da Vinci died in his arms which they know is false, having actually been present at da Vinci's passing. Ezio comment on how even kings will lie for publicity. This is reminiscent of a November 2009 gaffe by France's then-President Nikolas Sarkozy, who claimed on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall two years before the novel's release that he was present for the historic occasion. His claim was immediately disputed, with the accompanying photograph thought to have either been doctored or from a visit to the already demolished wall a week later. The proceeding controversy spawned the meme "Sarkozy Was There", where people would photoshop Sarkozy into other historic events, many from previous centuries.

Spider-Man

There is an achievement entitled Spider Assassin, in which Ezio has to climb the top of the Hagia Sophia in under 25 seconds. The title and achievement are a reference to the popular Marvel Comics' superhero Spider-Man and his ability to scale up and around buildings with incredible speed.

Superman

One title in the second stage of the Animi Training Program is "Man of Steel". This is a reference to DC Comics' hero, Superman, known as the Man of Steel.

Assassin's Creed III

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

As the Grand Temple opens, Shaun Hastings says "In another moment, down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again," which is a line from the chapter "Down the Rabbit Hole" from the book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland.

Animi Avatars

In the virtual map of the Northwest Passage used in the multiplayer, there exist two hidden paintings of Animi Avatars from former games: the Nobleman and the Vanguard. Both can be found inside of the map's biggest ship, with the first one hanging on a wall and the second one laying on the floor.

Assassin Turkey

Any time after Sequence 6, the player can find a turkey in the Davenport Homestead if they take cover behind any corner and whistled. Following this, the turkey would appear behind Ratonhnhaké:ton and follow him wherever possible. Upon the turkey's appearance, it is possible to unlock an additional secret by inputting the Konami Code, with the following directional prompts:
Xbox 360: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A.
PS3: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, O, X.
PC: 2, 2, 4, 4, 1, 3, 1, 3, E, Space.
Successfully inputting the code will cause Ratonhnhaké:ton to feed the animal. As the turkey feeds, a small Assassin hood will appear over its head.

Broken Sword

The Broken Sword Knife is a reference to the Broken Sword series, which also dealt with a secret history involving Templars and Assassins.

Cool Hand Luke

Often, civilians will utter "What we have here is a failure to communicate", which is the famous line from the film Cool Hand Luke.

Flying Machine

After completing a series of Homestead missions and retrieving stolen blueprints for the woodworker Lance O'Donnell, Connor will be given the opportunity to engage in an interactive conversation with him outside the Davenport Manor. Lance will then reveal that the blueprints contained, among other things, designs for a flying machine invented by Leonardo da Vinci centuries before.

In a clear reference to Assassin's Creed II, Connor will request to use it much as Ezio Auditore did, however unlike Ezio, once Connor leaps off of the Homestead's cliff with the construct, he and the machine will crash into the water of the bay below.

French flag

The hanging laundry in the game is arranged like the French flag.

Spyro the Dragon

When Desmond activates the mini-camera on his first mission, it makes the same noise as Sparx the Dragonfly in the Spyro the Dragon series.

The Last of the Mohicans

The Gunstock War Club is an exact replica of the club used by the character Chingachgook in the 1992 film The Last of the Mohicans.

QR Code

There is a QR code hidden in an image above the MMA ring while Desmond is in Brazil.

Sleepy Hollow

This is the first time the Headless Horseman is referenced to in the Assassin's Creed series. When Connor investigates the beheaded bodies under the order of the Frontiersmen, he will see the Headless Horseman with a pumpkin for a head.

Glass Armonica

Game guide specifically notes there is an Easter egg that will happen if you interact with this in a post game session.

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation

Predator

The trophy Predator can be earned through killing an enemy from a tree with the blowpipe whilst using Eagle Vision. This is a reference to the Predator movie franchise, in which the Predator stalks its prey from tree branches with thermal vision, before killing them with a plasma cannon.

Swamp Whale

In both the original PlayStation Vita and HD editions of Assassin's Creed: Liberation, if Aveline de Grandpré climbes the lighthouse next to the Spanish fort in the Louisiana Bayou, and then climbs onto the beam jutting out on the side opposite the Viewpoint, the sound of whale song can be heard in the swamp. If Aveline continues to look out into the water nearby, she can see a whale swimming around in the swamp water, occasionally surfacing to take a breath, sticking its tail up as it dives, or even breaching the surface and splashing down. In the PlayStation Vita edition, the whale is triggered as soon as Aveline climbed atop the railing, whereas in the HD edition, Aveline must position herself on the protruding wooden beam in order to trigger the whale.

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

Mr. Livingstone, I presume?

The memory title "Mister Walpole, I Presume?" is a reference to the explorer Henry Morton Stanley, famed for reportedly asking, "Mister Livingstone, I presume?", upon meeting fellow explorer and Christian missionary David Livingstone.

Death of a Salesman

The achievement for completing memory sequence 5 is titled Death Of A Salesman, a reference to the Arthur Miller play of the same name.

Full Metal Jacket

In "Trust Is Earned", John Cockram can be heard telling his soldiers "Pick up your socks and grab your cocks." This is a reference to the morning bootcamp scene in Full Metal Jacket.

Giant Squid vs. White Whale

At the Antocha wreck, if Edward Kenway looks out a window in one of the wrecks for a short while, a cinematic depicting a battle between a Giant Squid and a white whale would occur.

Inglourious Basterds

The memory titled "Vainglorious Bastards" is a possible reference to the movie Inglourious Basterds.

Papers, Please

One of the naval contracts Edward can undertake is named "Papers, Please", a reference to the indie game of the same name.

Pirate hunters

There is a pirate hunter ship named Thriller Bark, which may be a reference to a ship of the same name from the One Piece anime.

Another pirate hunter ship is named Hornblower, a possible reference to C. S. Forester's Horatio Hornblower novel series.

Real-world media and weapons

The silver Syrian Sabre

Throughout Abstergo Entertainment's Montreal building, several real-world games, books and other Assassin's Creed media can be found.

Accompanying this, there was a glass case in Olivier Garneau's office containing several weapons, including a silver handled Syrian Sabre, Maria's Dagger, and four replicas of the double-barreled shotgun from Red Steel 2, another Ubisoft title.

Scarlet Needle

In the multiplayer, the Duellist has a weapon called the Scarlet Needle, with the description "Choose your fate: Surrender, or Die". Both are references to a character in the Saint Seiya franchise, Scorpio Milo, one being his technique and the other his famous catchphrase.

Second White Whale appearance

At the Devil's Eye Caverns wreck, if Edward collects all the chests throughout the wreck and returns to the diving bell via the rapid current caverns, a white whale will appear in close proximity to the wreck, and pass by until it swims off into the distance.

The Secret of Monkey Island

In "The Pirate Captain" memory, Edward assassinates a pirate captain called Mancomb Seepgood, which references the video game The Secret of Monkey Island, as a pirate by the name of "Mancomb Seepgood" appears early in the story. However, judging by his claims that soon he will be the mightiest pirate in the Caribbean, it is likely he was also intended as a parody of the similarly-named, better-known protagonist of the Monkey Island franchise, Guybrush Threepwood. Additionally, during Sequence 10, Bartholomew Roberts remarks that "there's nothing like the hot winds of Hell blowing in your face," the same line uttered by the Ghost Pirate LeChuck in The Secret of Monkey Island.

The Young Ones

In Kingston, two guards can be heard conversing about the previous night. The following exchange is a rather obscure reference to the British comedy The Young Ones.

Tomb Raider

An assassin contract Edward can undertake is named "Tomb Raiders", a reference to the video game series Tomb Raider.

Watch_Dogs

There are multiple references to Blume Corporation, a security company based in Chicago from Ubisoft's Watch_Dogs, including an advertisement in one of Abstergo's computers.

Abstergo employees can be heard talking about contacting a security company in Chicago, with some saying that they would work for Blume when their visas expired.

Splinter Cell: Conviction

In the area under construction, by the lift used to infiltrate Olivier's office, there are labels on a can and a dumpster which read "SMD: Ducosto, Leeuwarden, Holland." These labels were first seen on power generators in Price Airfield in Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Conviction.

Assassin's Creed: Pirates

The Lord of the Rings

The description of the Garnet Ring reading "One ring to woo them all and in his cabin, bed them." is a play on the Black Speech inscription engraved in the fictional One Ring from J. R. R. Tolkien's book series, The Lord of the Rings.

Assassin's Creed: Unity

23 Cats

Cats on the boat

In the Parisian Saint-Marcel district, east of La Bièvre on the open water, is a boat. Inside the boat sits a delirious man beside a pile of bodies covered with bloody rags, and exactly 23 purring cats.

Cannibal of the Tuileries

Underneath the Tuileries Garden, through an entrance along the coastline, a cannibal can be found in the same underground tunnel as a collectible cockade. Outside the tunnel lie numerous bodies covered in bloody rags, and a blood-stained stretcher. Inside, a man is chopping up a piece of meat with a cleaver, near a pot with a human bone protruding from the top. Corpses are stacked in a pile near the man, and various civilians are trapped behind sealed gates on either end of the room. Using Eagle Vision, a bloody trail can be seen leading from the trapped civilians through the pile of corpses and to the table where the cannibal is preparing his next meal.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

When starting Assassins Creed: Unity, the player is introduced to a Helix menu of Abstergo Entertainment products, nearly all of which are unplayable. One of them, based on the events of Assassin's Creed II, is called "Fear and Loathing in Florence". This is a reference to the novel by Hunter S. Thompson titled Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Hervé passing wind

In the Assassin headquarters beneath Sainte-Chapelle, Arno can find Hervé Quemar sitting near a fireplace reading a book. If Arno stands near Quemar for long enough, Quemar will eventually pass wind and continue to nonchalantly read his book. This can happen multiple times.

Les Misérables

The Social Club mission "Colette" contains many references to the novel Les Misérables. Shaun also mentions the musical version, mainly his disgust that many consider the musical taking place during the French Revolution, when in actuality, the novel and play feature the failed June Rebellion of 1832.

Let them eat cake

West of the Paris Observatory in the Luxembourg district of Le Quartier Latin is an underground tunnel with an edible cake. Descending the stairs to the catacombs and turning left puts Arno Dorian in an empty room. Atop a desk in the corner of the room are two goblets, a candle, and an out-of-place, lavishly decorated three-layered cake with an egg on top. Interacting with the cake will cause Arno to eat the cake and vocally express his delight. The cake will also restore Arno's health. However, consuming the cake will cause it to disappear permanently from the player's game.

There are five cakes like this in Paris in the game, including the one in the underground tunnel. Eating them all will unlock a special fighter in the Luxembourg Palace. It is actually the Marquis de Bullion from the previous E3 gameplay trailers, and he will suddenly come to life from being a statue standing atop an over-sized cake and start fighting Arno. After killing him, fireworks will dominate the sky for a short time. If the Marquis' body is looted, 50,050 livres can be earned.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail

When helpful Parisians join Arno in fighting soldiers, they can be heard to say "Ah, now we see the violence inherent in the system," a line from the Monty Python film.

The Forgotten Knight

The knight's corpse

In the eastern corner of the Hotel de Ville district, near the Temple district, the body of a knight wearing medieval armor can be found. In a small clearing between two buildings, the body of the knight rests near several chickens and a man with a basket of eggs.

Victor Hugo

The brothers who confront Arno near the start of the game are named Victor and Hugo. This is a reference to the French author Victor Hugo, who wrote Les Misérables and The Hunchback of Notre-Dame.

Assassin's Creed: Rogue

Child of Light

At Abstergo Entertainment's lobby entrance, two scientists can be heard discussing Child of Light, with one trying to convince the other to play it, describing it as a "beautiful, turn-based RPG". The other dismisses it on the basis of the "story's told in rhyme" and not having any "PvP deathmatches". Abstergo scientists can also be heard talking about oculi crafting, a game feature that gives the player various rewards and abilities.

Real-world media

Throughout Abstergo Entertainment's Montreal building, several real-world games, books, and other Assassin's Creed media can be found. This includes Far Cry 3, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and Splinter Cell: Conviction representations such as magazines, books, etc. on the floor, atop desks, and in bookcases. On the Far Cry 3 magazine, the 3 in the title is replaced by a 5.

Rising Phoenix

A poster for the rumored Assassin's Creed: Rising Phoenix game can be found in Abstergo Entertainment's Montreal building. The poster has a "Coming Soon" sticker attached to the flames below the fictional game's logo.

Doctor Who

In the database entry for Albany, Violet da Costa makes a note regarding the British Lords of Trade, saying, “I’m more a fan of the British Lords of Time, if you know what I mean”. This is a reference to the British sci-fi series Doctor Who, the titular protagonist of which is a member of the Time Lord race.

Rush Songs

The missions "The Way the Wind Blows," "One Little Victory," "Freewill," "The Color of Right," "Circumstances," "Armour and Sword," "Scars," "Bravado," and "Cold Fire" each share their title with a song by Canadian rock band Rush. The mission "Caress of Steel" is also the title of a Rush album.

Serenity

Assassin guards can occasionally be heard saying "Do you want to run this gang?" "Yes." "Well...you can't." This is nearly identical to a line in the 2005 film Serenity.

The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow

At Sleepy Hollow in the Albany region of the River Valley, a character resembling the Headless Horseman, from the short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving, can attack the player. He can be found at the Old Dutch Church at night. He shares the same animations as a Brute soldier, wields a large axe, pistol and can throw grenades. As soon as he sees Shay, he will begin to attack. He is invulnerable to direct attacks and cannot be killed conventionally.

There are four known ways to defeat the Headless Horseman. The first is to shoot a pumpkin sitting atop a gravestone in the cemetery next to the church. The second way is to use a sleep grenade to cause him to drop his axe, have Shay pick up the axe, and perform the special attack with the weapon once he awakens. This will drive the axe through his nonexistent head and incapacitate him. However, he will still be alive and aware of the player. The third way to defeat him is to hang him using a rope dart. The fourth way is a haystack assassination.

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within

A figurine of the Prince, the main protagonist in Ubisoft's Prince of Persia: Warrior Within, can be found in a cubicle of Abstergo Entertainment's Montreal building.

Assassin's Creed: Syndicate

"The Twin Assassins" trailer

In the trailer "The Twins: Evie and Jacob Frye", Jacob's line of "As far back as I can remember, I wanted to be part of London" echoes the opening line in the film Goodfellas, which is "As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster".

Alhambra Music Hall posters

At the Alhambra Music Hall, posters can be found advertising Ballad of the Buccaneers and Ezio, which are homage to Edward Kenway and Ezio Auditore, respectively.

Desmond Miles

The name of Mary Anne Disraeli's dog, Desmond, is a reference to Desmond Miles, the modern day protagonist of the original Assassin's Creed and its immediate sequels. In both cases, they were kidnapped by members of the Templar Order and rescued by Assassins later on.

Dracula

The Impaler Cane-sword, Evie's Bloofer Lady Outfit, and Jacob's Maximum Dracula outfit from the Victorian Legends Pack all reference Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.

Driving Miss Daisy

The title of the memory "Driving Mrs. Disraeli" is a reference to the 1989 film Driving Miss Daisy.

Frankenstein

The Creature's Rags, an outfit for Jacob, references Mary Shelley's novel Frankenstein; or, the Modern Prometheus.

H. P. Lovecraft

Everything about the set of brass knuckles called Great Old One's Caress is a nod to the Cthulhu mythos created by horror author H. P. Lovecraft. The "Great Old One" refers to any member of Lovecraft's pantheon of the "Great Old Ones", space-faring deities who once ruled Earth before falling into a near-death slumber. The knuckles are also shaped like a tentacle, a physical feature common among many of Lovecraft's characters. Lastly, the knuckles' description reads that they "were hupadgh n'gha ng n'ghft", which loosely translates from R'lyehian, the language of the Great Old Ones, to "were born of death and darkness".

Ivan Bunbury

Ivan Bunbury's last name is a term that appears in The Importance of Being Earnest, a play by Oscar Wilde.

James Bond

Queen Victoria's contact, Alfred Fleming, introduces himself as part of "Her Majesty's secret service," alluding to Ian Fleming, author of the James Bond series, particularly the novel On Her Majesty's Secret Service.

In "The Lady with the Lamp", Evie introduces herself to Florence Nightingale as "Frye. Evie Frye." This may be a nod to Bond's infamous manner of introducing himself as "Bond. James Bond."

The Bohemian Girl

At the conclusion of Sequence 5, Crawford Starrick sings the aria "Then you'll remember me" from the opera The Bohemian Girl.

The Great Escape

The title of the memory The Crate Escape is a reference to the 1963 film The Great Escape.

The IT Crowd

The achievement You Wouldn't Steal A Policeman's Helmet is a reference to The IT Crowd, piracy warning video.

Lewis Carroll

The author of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass can be found in The Strand reading the poem Jabberwocky to a group of children. The children will also ask what a bandersnatch is, which Carroll has yet to decide on. Afterwards, Lewis Carroll prepares to read another of his poems, titled The Walrus and the Carpenter.

Jabberwocky is quoted in the description for the Vorpal Kukri, which is inspired by the vorpal blade mentioned in the poem.

Monkey Island

In the game, civilians can be seen arguing with each other in a battle of Insult Sword Fighting.

Our Mutual Friend

The memories "Our Mutual Friend" and "An Artful Plan" from The Darwin and Dickens Conspiracy reference the plot of Our Mutual Friend, the last novel completed by Charles Dickens. The characters John Hammon and Bella Wilton reference the names of John Harmon and Bella Wilfer, respectively. Hammon also uses the alias "John Rokesmith" when announcing his "death" to Bella. At the end of "An Artful Plan", Charles Darwin acknowledges that the situation feels very familiar and wonders why.

Sea shanties

Various sea shanties featured in Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag make an appearance in Victorian London. An accordion player in the park adjacent to the Kenway Mansion plays the song "Here's a Health to the Company", while the piano puzzle in the memory "Playing It by Ear" uses the tune of "Lowlands Away".

A flute player can also be found playing "Padstow's Farewell" and "Admiral Benbow". Lastly, a man near the River Thames sings the shanties "Leave Her Johnny", "All for Me Grog", and "Barbara Allen".

Shall We Dance?

The achievement name for completing Sequence 9 is titled Shall We Dance?, referencing a musical number from Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King and I.

Sherlock Holmes

The Huntsman's Outfit for Jacob is homage to the iconic look of Sherlock Holmes, as illustrated by Sidney Paget.

A young Arthur Conan Doyle is prominently featured in the downloadable expansion The Dreadful Crimes.

The achievement Bartitsu refers to the British martial art of the same name that was misspelled as baritsu in the Sherlock Holmes story The Adventure of the Empty House.

The title of the memory "Somewhere That's Green" references a musical number from Little Shop of Horrors.

Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

At the beginning of the chariot races in the Lageion Hippodrome, an archer sometimes mirrors Antonio Rebollo's lighting of the Olympic flame during the opening ceremony of the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona.

Assassin's Creed (film)

There are several nods to the 2016 live-action Assassin's Creed film, such as Emails between Layla and Sofia Rikkin talking about the film's version of the Animus device, the Animus 4.3, implying that Layla is the original designer of this particular Animus. Additionally, documents can be found in "The Gone Files" detailing Alan Rikkin's death at the hands of Callum Lynch, a modern-day Assassin and descendant of the Master Assassin Aguilar de Nerha, and an Email sent by Layla offering her condolences to Sofia for her father's death.

Asterix and Cleopatra

In the downloadable expansion The Hidden Ones, just north-west of the leopard lair in Madiama Nome, players can access a cave by climbing up the left side of a stone arch. Inside is a small camp with a fire and a large headstone which, if seen in Photo Mode, shows the drawing of a pudding with multiple other sketches beneath it. This is a reference to a scene in the 1968 Franco-Belgian animated film Asterix and Cleopatra, in which scribes Artifis and Krukhut sing as they prepare an arsenic pudding with ridiculously toxic substances involved in its preparation. All the drawings on the tablet are original to the game except for the three last lines, which refer to the verse "Add rat poison to the brew. / Cobra's venom goes in, too. / Sweeten it with orange juice. / Three segments is what you use".

Blade Runner

During the memory "A Pharaoh's Ka" in the downloadable expansion The Curse of the Pharaohs, when recovering the eye that is inside a scorpion lair, there is a note that starts by saying "I have seen things... Things that cannot be believed. Chariots aflame, struck down by the bow of Orion". This is a reference to the final monologue by the android Roy Batty in the 1982 film Blade Runner, which starts by saying: "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion".

Dancing mania

In Kyrenaika there are people dancing like crazy under the influence of the proconsul Flavius Metellus reminiscent to the dancing mania in Europe during late medieval and early modern times.

Dark Souls

In the ruins of Keno located in the Paraitonion region, Bayek can find a sword embedded in a pile of ash and bones, which has a message titled "Sword in the Ashes" that talks about how the bones belong to someone who would find no rest in the afterlife due to missing their heart. This is a clear reference to the iconic bonfires seen throughout the Dark Souls series that act as checkpoints and respawn points.

Doctor Who

In the river northeast of Letopolis, it is possible to find a large object at the bottom of the river with an uncanny resemblance to the TARDIS, the phonebooth-shaped time travel device used by the Doctor in the British sci-fi series Doctor Who. Additionally, the door is slightly ajar, and there appears to be a pair of leg bones at the bottom, implying the Doctor met an unfortunate demise during one of their travels.

Final Fantasy XV

In Layla Hassan's hideout, three items related to the Final Fantasy series, especially Final Fantasy XV, can be found: a Moogle doll, a Cactuar statuette, and a Chocobo sticker.

Game of Thrones

Throughout the game, Bayek has a chance to obtain Needle, a rare-level spear, as a random drop. The spear's name is a reference to the sword of the same name used by Arya Stark in the Game of Thrones series. The spear's description reads "Stick 'em with the pointy end.", mirroring what Jon Snow told Arya when he first gave her the blade.

Genghis Khan

In the Stone Circle "Apis" in the memory "Bayek's Promise", as Bayek and Khemu talk while searching for the bull's constellation, Khemu asks his father "What is best in life?". On hearing Bayek's answer, Khemu says his friend Kenon insisted that it was "to crush our enemies, and to hear the lamentations of their women". This line is often attributed to the character Conan the Barbarian from his 1982 titular film, but in fact is a paraphrase of Genghis Khan's response to the same query. His reply in full was, "to crush your enemies, to see them fall at your feet to take their horses and goods and hear the lamentation of their women."

Indiana Jones

During the mission "Curse of Wadjet", Bayek uses a clear reference to Indiana Jones, saying "Snakes again, why did it have to be snakes?", referring to the famous quote from the 1981 movie Raiders of the Lost Ark.

Pirates of the Caribbean

In Lake Mareotis, there is a treasure location named "Dead Men Tell No Tales" which is a reference to the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film Dead Men Tell No Tales.

Seven Samurai

Bayek helping a few local peasants in their fight against bandits during the side quest Seven Farmers is a reference to Akira Kurosawa's movie Seven Samurai.

Star Wars

During the mission "The Greater Good" in The Hidden Ones, Gamilat will repeatedly try to knock Bayek off the platform into the water so as to target him with a ballista. If he succeeds, he will say "It's over Bayek, I have the high ground!" This is a reference to the climactic duel between Obi-Wan Kenobi and a newly-christened Darth Vader on the molten planet Mustafar in the film Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, where Obi-Wan says this line before Vader attempts and fails to leap to a higher elevation along the banks of a lava flow.

The Lord of the Rings

During the side quest "Precious Bonds", Bayek must help a group of tomb robbers in Giza locate a ring they have become fixated with, each wanting it for themselves. The memory title may be a nod to Gollum from The Lord of the Rings, who was so obsessed with possessing the One Ring due to its corrupting influence that he frequently referred to it as "[his] precious". Additionally, during the quest's final cutscene as Bayek tosses the ring into the air, the camera angle from above focusing on the spinning ring echoes a similar shot in The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, when Frodo Baggins falls in The Prancing Pony inn and throws the One Ring in the air, where it flips end-over-end before landing on his finger.

Layla's computer has a file detailing Olivier Garneau's death and showing security footage of his murder at the hands of Watch_Dogs character Aiden Pierce.

One of the quests on the island of Kephallonia is called "Shark the Vagrant". This is a reference to the webcomic Hark! A Vagrant by Canadian artist Kate Beaton.

Greece has various amphitheaters, especially in or near remarkable polises, built out of stone slabs. Some of these stone slabs are inscribed with Greek letters, spelling out the names of artists like Mikael Boulet, Jonathan Benainous, Vincent Dérozier, Pierre-Luc Lavoie, and Hugo Lamarre.

The trophy unlocked for completing the Battle of Thermopylae in the game’s prologue, “This is Sparta!”, is a reference to the line spoken by Leonidas in the 2006 film 300, which became an internet meme and inspired the Spartan Remix.

Bohemian Rhapsody

Kassandra is able to acquire a rare Heavy Blunt weapon called Boeotian Rhapsody, a clear reference to the song Bohemian Rhapsody by the band Queen. The weapon’s description reads, “Hits just like real life, handles like fantasy...” mirroring the opening lyrics of the song.

Splinter Cell

During the first modern day intermission after activating the Ancient Forge on Andros, Layla Hassan can wander around the Assassin hideout and comment on various things therein. One of the objects she can interact with are Multi-Vision Goggles, commenting "Looks like Third Echelon. Or is it Fourth?"

Made in Abyss

In the region of Kythera, Kassandra is able to find an Ainigmata Ostraka in the Temple of Aphrodite titled Made in Abyss. This could be a reference to an anime series of the same name.

Pirates of the Caribbean

After completing Xenia’s final treasure hunt quest on Keos, players receive the hidden trophy “A Pirate’s Life for Me”. This could be a potential reference to the shanty of the same name from the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

Among the various mercenaries met over a playthrough is one with the epithet The Knee Destroyer. According to the description, the mercenary used to be friends with one of the finest mercenaries on Delos until said friend was shot in the knee. This recalls one of the most famous NPC-guard lines from The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, "I used to be an adventurer like you, then I took an arrow in the knee."

Daft Punk

Upon upgrading the Adrestia for the first time, players will unlock the achievement “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”. This is a clear reference to the song of the same name made by the French electronic music duo Daft Punk.

The Lord of the Rings

At the beginning of the quest The Ordering of the Kosmos, three representatives of the Order of the Ancients are greeted by a Cult of Kosmos guard who states they are late, followed by one of the representatives replying, “We arrived precisely when we meant to”. This is a potential play on the words of Gandalf the Grey in The Lord of The Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, when he is greeted by Frodo Baggins at the beginning of the film.

Ubisoft's logo in Elysium

While traversing the simulation of Elysium created by Aletheia, the place is filled with asphodel flowers, especially the aptly named Asphodel Fields. If players observe the fields from a height, Ubisoft's logo is clearly visible.

Clash of the Titans

During the quest "Training Days", the trainer Iatrokles asks Kassandra, "What say we give these summer youths a spectacle? Show them a clash of Titans?". This is a reference to the movie Clash of the Titans, which is loosely based on the Greek myth of Perseus.

"Project Olympeck"

In Aletheia's simulation of Atlantis there is an optional bossfight with a rooster named "Project Olympeck", a pun on the Project Olympos. When defeated, the chicken drops a golden egg.

Assassin's Creed: Valhalla

Harry Potter

While exploring the wares at Yanli's Trading Post in Ravensthorpe, Eivor Varinsdottir can collect pages from a manuscript titled "Fantastic Fishes and Where to Find Them", a reference to J. K. Rowling's 2001 book Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and the 2016 film, which are spin-offs from her Harry Potter series focusing on the adventures of the magical zoologist Newton "Newt" Scamander.

In a London home, Eivor can find a note on the writing desk which reads:

This is a reference to the number and form of items used by the dark wizard Voldemort for his horcruxes, everyday objects which contained a fragmented portion of his soul by way of sorcery. The identity of the horcruxes were, respectively, Voldemort's childhood diary; his uncle's ring; the locket, cup, and diadem from three of Hogwarts' four founders; Voldemort's pet snake Nagini; and Harry Potter himself.

One of the altars in the game is called Dobby's Altar and requires an offering of five fabric. This a reference to the house-elf character Dobby and the custom of giving clothing to a house-elf to emancipate them.

First Assassin's Creed

Some Order of the Ancients members' deaths echo scenes from Assassin's Creed, with certain targets in Lunden, Jorvik, and Wincecster bearing strong similarities to the chronologically-later targets in Acre, Damascus, and Jerusalem, respectively.

Nine Inch Nails

One of the sellable trinkets that Eivor can find by looting is a handful of rusty nails, described as being nine inches long. This is a possible reference to the industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

After completing the Winchester arc, Eivor can visit the Wincestre Seminary and find one of the children she saved during "Plucking the Quill". Upon speaking to the child, he says "My father used to be a warrior until he took an arrow to the knee", mirroring a famous line spoken by guards in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Star Wars

The trophy/achievement "Not the Norse You're Looking For" is a reference to a line from Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, where Obi-Wan Kenobi uses a Jedi mind trick on a Stormtrooper to prevent C-3PO and R2-D2 from being recognized, telling him "These aren't the droids you're looking for".

The Hobbit

On the west side of Gloucestershire, Eivor can find a community of pagans that live inside houses that greatly resemble Hobbit Holes from the Lord of the Rings series. In one of the houses, Eivor can find a letter talking about "one of the little folk" wanting their door to be made smaller to "keep unruly houseguests from his house", and "that nonsense with the druid last fall", referencing the first meeting between Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf the Grey, and Thorin Oakenshield's company in The Hobbit.

The Lord of the Rings

The Gothic Pack is a reference to Sauron with the helmet based on his armored appearance in flashbacks and the gauntlets noted to have a mark from a burning ring.

In the 2022 downloadable expansion Dawn of Ragnarök, Havi can encounter a dwarf named "Frodri" in Svartálfaheimr. The dwarf believes he is cursed with bad luck from an evil ring, and takes it upon himself to destroy it by throwing it into a volcano's caldera. This references the hobbit Frodo Baggins' quest to destroy the One Ring in the fires of Mount Doom where it was forged.

Avengers: Infinity War

The trophy “We’re in the End Game Now” is a potential reference to a line spoken by Doctor Strange in the 2018 film Avengers: Infinity War.

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

The 2022 downloadable expansion The Forgotten Saga’s trophy “Crossing Dókkerland” depicts a flaming arm giving a thumbs up, which is a clear reference to the scene at the end of Terminator 2: Judgment Day, where the T-800 gives John Conner the same gesture as it lowers itself into a vat of molten metal.

The Adventures of Asterix

The 2021 downloadable expansion Wrath of the Druids has a Treasure Hoard map that can be found in a druid's house on an island at the western edge of Meath. It reads:

Potion of Strength

My distant cousin, a venerable and elderly druid as am I, lives across the seas in Francia. He taught me the makings of a miraculous potion! It gives whoever drinks it powerful strength.

I do not have precisely the same herbs, but I plan to make and consume the potion in the northern part of the island where stand massive stones. With the option, I hope to life one.

May the spirits be with me.

However, when Eivor arrives at the spot described in the note, she sees that the stone has fallen on the druid, proof that his potion experiment had failed. The unnamed Frankish druid is a reference to either Getafix, the Gaul druid from Asterix who invented a "magic potion" which gives the drinker superhuman strength, or Getafix's successor, though various details in Asterix have hinted that Getafix is over a hundred years old, meaning he could also have a potion recipe for prolonged life.

Death Stranding

Outside Yanli's shop in Ravensthorpe, Eivor can find a delivery list with a floor containing several items meant to be delivered to numerous locations across England. This is a reference to the cargo delivery missions in the 2019 video game Death Stranding.

Smiley Face

In the 2021 downloadable content Wrath of the Druids, Eivor can find a smiley face in Ulster's Malin Head. It seems to be made of chalk, since it is white, but it could be some other material.

Fenton

The dog breed in the memory title "Eivor the Sheepdog" and the sheep farmer's initial lines are references to a YouTube video in which a man visiting London's Richmond Park chases after his loose sheepdog Fenton, who ignores his exasperated calls to return and instead chases a herd of deer across a road. In both the video and Eivor's memory, the animal owner's opening lines are "Fenton! Fenton! Jesus Christ! Fenton!"

Assassin's Creed in other media

Characters, gameplay and story elements as well as concepts from the Assassin's Creed series are featured in various other media, either as parodies or references.

Academy of Champions: Soccer

Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad and other Ubisoft characters appear in Academy of Champions: Soccer as playable characters.

AdventureQuest

In AdventureQuest, the Assassin job class had a level 10 Guardian skill called "Finishing Blow." After clicking this, it had another button called "Assassin's Creed." Additionally, the armor "Whispering Raiment" had two small blades on the left arm, referencing the Assassins' Hidden Blade.

AdventureQuest Worlds

In AdventureQuest Worlds, there were two outfits available for purchase at the suggestion shop in Yulgar's inn, which were the "Hashashin Armor," priced at 500,000 gold for free players, and the "Armored Hashashin Armor," priced at 300,000 gold for upgraded members of the game. The armor included two "hidden blades," though they were located on top of the player's wrist, rather than on the underneath.

The Amazing World of Gumball

In The Amazing World of Gumball's sixteenth episode from Season 1 titled "The Kiss", Gumball performs The Leap of Faith.

Brawlhalla

Ezio is available as a full-on Legend in said game and Eivor as an Epic Crossover, both being revealed and available to play on 27 July 2022.

Dead Island

In Dead Island, there was a knife players could use named "Assassin's Greed" (referencing the series' title). Accompanying this, there was also a modification for brass knuckles called the "Assassin's Poison Mod".

Dragon Age II

In Dragon Age II, the brothel in Hightown was called the "Blooming Rose," a direct translation of the Roman courtesan headquarters, the Rosa in Fiore.

Dungeon Defenders

In Dungeon Defenders, the character "The Ranger", the male version of "The Huntress" for the PC, could obtain a Halloween costume that resembled a black Master Assassin robe set.

Fable Anniversary

There is an achievement in Fable Anniversary called "Ass Creed". It requires the player to wear an assassin outfit and then do a the fart expression. The achievement description will then read, "You were deadly alright; look at the size of that hole in your trousers! Quick, find a haystack!".

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout

Ezio's robes from Assassin's Creed II and an animation akin to viewpoint Synchronization and a failed Leap of Faith were available as a Costume and a Celebration respectively as a part of the Season 1 Battle Pass of June-July 2021.

Abstergo's Challenge was a limited-time Live Event running from 7 July 2022 to 12 July 2022 and specialized in games where the players became invisible. Alongside the challenge were rewards based on Abstergo Industries and the Apple of Eden as well as a Costume based on Eivor Varinsdottir (and her male variant) being available for purchase.

Fantastic Four

In Fantastic Four, the first gameplay walkthrough of Assassin's Creed: Syndicate can be seen playing on one of Victor von Doom's computer screens.

Far Cry 3

In Far Cry 3, one of the collectible Letters of the Lost Lab mentioned "I question using these so-called scientists. They speak of Pieces of Eden and Edison's electrical experiments into genetic memory." It also mentioned the password "122112", a reference to the solar flare date in Desmond's storyline, and an Abstergo Industries logo could be found on several of the walls.

As well as this, earlier in the game, Jason mentions "leap of faith" before jumping into a pool of water, reminiscent of the Leap of Faith from the Assassin's Creed games. Also, at the beginning of the game, they quote "In another moment, down went Alice after it, never once considering how in the world she was to get out again" from Alice in Wonderland, very similar to how Shaun quoted the phrase in Assassin's Creed III. However, they continue quoting dialogues from the book throughout the game.

Far Cry Primal

There's a Far Cry Primal Easter egg where the protagonist must acquire feathers. Upon delivering the feathers to Urki the Thinker, Urki will perform a Leap of Faith.

If players head far south on the mini-map and stand at the base of a hill, they will come across a massive Assassin's insignia scrawled in the dirt.

There is a trophy the player can unlock called "Kanda Of Faith", where the player's character climbs the mountain Kanda and jump off into water below to unlock it.

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Ezio's outfit from Assassin's Creed: Revelations appears in Final Fantasy XIII-2 as a downloadable costume.

During the 2011 Halloween event in Gaia Online, Edmund, the shop owner for H & R Wesley, was dressed as Ezio Auditore from Assassin's Creed II.

Ghost of Tsushima

In Ghost of Tsushima, Jin's techniques are divided into two types: Ghost Weapons that allow upgrading Jin Sakai's damage by unlocking powerful weapons, and Evolving Tactics, combat skills that can be used stealthy as the Ghost. Among these is one called Hidden Blade, this allows Jin to throw 1 extra kunai.

Monster Hunter: World

In 2019, there was a collaboration event between Monster Hunter: World and Assassin's Creed. Players who completed Monster Hunter: World's Special Event quest "SDF: Silent, Deadly, And Fierce" would receive the special trading item Senu's Feathers, which could be traded to the research commission in the Tradeyard for two special equipment items; a set of cosmetic layered armor that gave the player's Hunter the appearance and voice of Bayek wearing the Egyptian Hedj outfit from Assassin's Creed: Origins, and the Assassin's Hood which, when worn, resembles Ezio Auditore's robes from Assassin's Creed II, and boosts the Hunter's running speed, boosts attack power, and allows them to hide more quickly as long as they aren't spotted by a monster.

Grand Theft Auto IV

In Grand Theft Auto IV, after completing a set of assassination missions for a mysterious figure named the Fixer, the player received an achievement called "Assassin's Greed", which was a direct play on the Assassin's Creed name. Moreover, the requirement for the achievement was the completion of nine assassination missions, which paralleled the first Assassin's Creed game, in which Altaïr was tasked by Al Mualim to kill nine Templars in exchange for his reinstatement as a Master Assassin.

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

In Halo: The Master Chief Collection, there's an achievement called "Requiescat in Pace". Players can earn this by performing 10 successful assassinations on enemy players in Halo: Reach. The achievement's name is a reference to the famous quote said by Ezio Auditore da Firenze in Assassin's Creed II.

Hitman: Absolution

In the Sniper Challenge from Hitman: Absolution, Agent 47 will see a very tall building in the background with two antennas. If Agent 47 looks through his scope at the very top of the building, he will see a hooded man perched on a ledge. If he shoots the man, an eagle sound can be heard as the man falls. Shooting the man earns the player the "Leap of the Ninja" achievement, referencing the Leap of Faith.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number

In Hotline Miami 2, there is a trophy titled, "Assassin's Cred", which is an obvious poke at Assassin's Creed because its name and how you get the achievement. It's earned in the level, "No Mercy", and is obtained by stealth-killing every enemy on floor 1 using nothing but your silenced pistol.

Hyperdimension Neptunia

One weapon from the video game Hyperdimension Neptunia Victory, named the "Freak Diamond", has the description of "A replica of an assassin's blade from days of yore. No matter the height, you'll be fine if you fall into a haystack."

inFamous 2

The theater, depicting the parody title

Located in the fictional city of New Marais, several cinemas and theaters in inFamous 2 featured movie titles that were direct puns to popular video game names. Among the movie titles was "Assassin's Need (Love Too)", a parody on Assassin's Creed. These cinemas were located in the very first district of the city. Also, one of the negative karmic missions available in the game was named "Assassin's Greed", another play on the Assassin's Creed name.

Another Easter egg found in the game's downloadable content inFamous: Festival of Blood could be seen again on the cinemas' featured movie titles. The new parody title was "Assassin's Bleed", which was also a reference to the download content's central theme of vampires.

Immortals Fenyx Rising

Immortals Fenyx Rising was developed by the Ubisoft Quebec, and was inspired by their previous game of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey. As such, the team made several references to the series.

Ubisoft Connect rewards feature several cosmetics to make Fenyx look like Alexios or Kassandra: the Misthios Locks and Misthios Beard simulate Alexios' haircut and facial hair, the Misthios Braid replicates Kassandra's haircut, and the Mighty Misthios Armor Set is modelled off the Mercenary Set often used in Odyssey's promotional material, but with the hood equipped rather than the helmet.

In the main game, one of the first tasks is to "Scout the area from a good vantage point", followed by "Jump in the pond below", referencing synchronization points and Leaps of Faith.

In the downloadable expansion A New God, after the protagonist Fenyx finishes the other gods' trials, they talk to Zeus, who informs them they have yet to take his trial. Not seeing it anywhere, Fenyx asks after it, to which Zeus answers "Hold on, I've been wanting to do this ever since I played Odyssey... SPARTA KICK! HAYIA!" and kicks his own throne, revealing the gates leading to his trial.

The next expansion, Myths of the Eastern Realm, also has an Assassin's Creed reference, even though it was made mostly by Ubisoft Chengdu. In the place known as the Harmony Pavilion, there is a set of bamboo-like columns forming a circle, inside of which is the Assassin insignia created with blue stamina mushrooms.

The third and final expansion, The Lost Gods, also contains a reference to Odyssey. Many Herm Signposts are spread out across the map, and one of them, unusually located in one of the Tartaros Rifts, reads:

Invictus games

In the iPhone games Froggy Jump and Froggy Launcher, a torso item called "Assassin armor" appeared identical to Ezio's armor in Assassin's Creed II, and could be bought for 2 Diamonds.

The IT Crowd

The episode "The Dinner Party" sees main character Roy ask the model he escorted home if he can borrow her copy of Assassin's Creed, holding up the game case. The recording and broadcast of the episode in 2007 actually predated Assassin Creed's release by months.

Kingdom Rush: Frontiers

In the Ironhide Studios game, the two top level "Barracks" towers are the Assassins and the Templars, a direct play on the rivalry between the Assassins and the Templars in the Assassin's Creed series.

LEGO The Lord of the Rings: The Video Game

In LEGO The Lord of the Rings, a Leap of Faith could be performed from a wooden board that resembled a Viewpoint at the highest point in Weathertop. On performing it, the character would land into a small pond, complete with an eagle-like sound as the Leap was done.

LittleBigPlanet series

As a part of their promotion for Assassin's Creed II, Ubisoft released Ezio's Assassin costume as a downloadable outfit for the PlayStation 3 exclusive LittleBigPlanet on 8 December 2009.

On the day that Revelations was released, LittleBigPlanet released a new costume of Ezio, featuring Sackboy in the robes that Ezio started out with in the game, as well as his beard. These outfits are also available in LittleBigPlanet 2.

Metal Gear series

The Altaïr costume in Metal Gear Solid 4

On April Fools' Day 2008, it was revealed that an Altaïr costume for Old Snake could be unlocked in the game Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Hideo Kojima, one of the game's creators, later announced that it was not a joke, and that the costume could really be unlocked if the player did "something special." In order to unlock the costume, the player must have either acquired the "Assassin Emblem", a nod to the games' emblem, or input the password "aottrykmyn" in the "Extras" section.

The costume could be used as an alternative disguise early in-game and worked exactly like the Middle East Militia costume. Unlike Altaïr's robes, the Militia costume was lost early in-game, prompting the player to find another set of the disguise, and could cause the Middle Eastern faction to be friendly to the player as opposed to having to work to gain their trust. When the costume was worn, Old Snake's idle stance, without any weapons equipped, was exactly like Altaïr's stance in Assassin's Creed, complete with his ring finger bent back to his palm.

In Main Ops 16, one of the missions in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, a unique box made of straw dubbed the Assassin's Straw Box could be obtained. To do so, the player must ensure that there was a vacant slot in the equipment section. They then must climb onto the roof of the shack above where the straw box was, and then perform a Leap of Faith into it. The Leap was accompanied by an eagle's screech, similar to its mechanism in the Assassin's Creed series.

Right after obtaining the straw box, one of the game's main supporting characters, Kazuhira Miller, mentions its use during the Third Crusade and how it was used by the Assassin Order. After the aforementioned mission was completed, the Assassin's Straw Box was made available in the inventory.

The box could hold two people simultaneously and included a special function not found in other box items: players were able to knock out soldiers while hiding in the box and if another player was present, the unconscious soldier could be recruited.

Prince of Persia series

In the 2008 reboot of Prince of Persia, Altaïr's costume was available as free downloadable content for use by the Prince. Additionally, an achievement entitled "Assassin's View" could be unlocked by standing on a Viewpoint upon the Martyr's Tower.

Similarly, in Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, Ezio's costume could be purchased via Ubisoft Club for 30 points.

Rayman Legends

In the Ubisoft game Rayman Legends, some retail companies such as GAME, offered pre-order DLC skins for Rayman and Barbara, with Edward Kenway's robes for Rayman and Aveline de Grandpré's Assassin outfit for Barbara.

RuneScape

In RuneScape, the quests "Stolen Hearts" and "Diamond in the Rough" contained many similarities to Assassin's Creed, such as stalking targets, free-running across rooftops and an "Eagle jump" into a cart of hay. Following this, for the "Desert Tasks", players would accomplish the "Assassin's Feed" task if they repeated the "Eagle jump".

In the sandbox game Saints Row: The Third, an achievement entitled "Everything is Permitted" was awarded when one eliminated all assassination targets, which referenced the Assassins' Creed.

Saints Row: Gat out of Hell

In Saints Row: Gat out of Hell, an achievement entitled "Saints' Creed" was awarded by standing on the tallest mast of the Queen Anne's Revenge.

Sims Medieval

In the simulation game Sims Medieval, there were two roles that the player could be: Assassin and Templar. A quest that had the player kill spies and assassins was named "Assassin's Greed", a direct reference to Assassin's Creed.

Six-Guns

In the mobile game created by Gameloft, one of the locations within the state of Oregon was called "Assassin's Creek".

Slay the Spire

The relic "Wrist Blade", which looks like Hidden Blade, is a reference to Assassin's Creed series.

Soul Calibur V

Ezio Auditore, wearing his default outfit from Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, was a special playable guest character in Soul Calibur V.

South Park

In South Park's sixth episode from Season 19 titled "Tweek x Craig", the titular characters can be seen playing Assassin's Creed: Syndicate.

Styx: Master of Shadows

Styx: Master of Shadows features a hooded goblin assassin with traits similar to the Assassin's Creed franchise, including the use of parkour, ledge and air assassinations, and an ability akin to Eagle Vision. Accompanying this, one of the game's trailers is titled Assassin's Green

Super Smash Bros.

On 16 January 2020, it was confirmed that Altaïr would be a DLC Mii Costume for the Mii Swordfighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Team Fortress 2

Team Fortress 2 featured two promotional items for the Spy class obtained through random crafting or from pre-ordering Assassin's Creed: Revelations from Steam called the "Dashin' Hashashin," which resembled Ezio's hood, and the Sharp Dresser which resembled Ezio's Hidden Blade.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim

In The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, the player may travel to a place called the "Bard's Leap Summit", a large cliff sporting a plank at the top, with a large drop to a pool below, resembling a Viewpoint and a Leap of Faith. After successfully performing a Leap of Faith, the player will be greeted by a ghost of a man dressed in Alik'r Warrior clothing, who explains that he leapt to his death. The warrior's clothing is similar to Altaïr's outfit, while the Alik'r are a desert-dwelling people extremely proficient in combat and thus are occasionally used as assassins. Lastly, the entrance to the Viewpoint is an archway that slightly resembles the Assassin insignia.

The Hunger Games

In Issue #6 of Titan Comics series, Charlotte de la Cruz wakes up Kody Adams, who drowsily calls her Natalie Dormer, due to Charlotte having shaved the left side of her hair, resembling the real-life actress's character, Cressida, in the The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 & 2.

The Messengers

In an episode of The Messengers, "Why We Fight", an Assassin insignia can be seen on the back window of Tom's truck.

The Saboteur

In The Saboteur, the main protagonist Sean Devlin earned a racing car with white stripes, named Altaïr, which was nicknamed "The Flying Eagle."

In the fifth episode of season 23 of The Simpsons, "The Food Wife," a poster could be seen in the back of the fictional games convention E4, featuring a hippie with two Hidden Blades and the title "Assassin's Creed - Summer of Love," beside some other game parodies.

The Witcher 2

Geralt standing by the body

During one mission in The Witcher 2, Geralt could walk up to some haystacks underneath a structure resembling a Viewpoint and find the body of a white-robed man, who looked suspiciously like an Assassin, that appeared to have died when his Leap of Faith failed. The white-robed man also had a blade covering his arm that looked like an Assassin's Hidden Blade. If the player examined the body, Geralt said, "Hmm... Guess they'll never learn." From there, he would be granted a hidden ability called "Assassin", which add additional damage to enemies if attacked from behind.

Velayudham

In the 2011 Indian Tamil film Velayudham, the protagonist Velu wears an outfit similar to Altaïr's. In regards to this, the film's producers mentioned that the costume was heavily influenced by Altaïr's outfit from Assassin's Creed.

Watch_Dogs

Created by Ubisoft, the 2014 game Watch_Dogs contains numerous references to the Assassin's Creed universe. An outfit named the DedSec White Hacker Suit has a color scheme resembling the Assassins' robes, and a hacked camera feed shows a father watching his son playing the memory "The Wounded Eagle" from Assassin's Creed: Revelations.

The final criminal convoy mission is entitled "Requiescat in Pace", a reference to Ezio Auditore's od delivering last rites to his assassination targets. At the beginning of the mission, Aiden is contracted to take down Olivier Garneau. Aiden references Abstergo's genetic memory research and corporate corruption before knocking Olivier unconscious. According to Olivier's profile, he was the CEO of Abstergo and targeted by the Brotherhood, referencing as to why Olivier never arrived to his shareholder's meeting in Chicago as noted in the modern day segments for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

Several individuals who work for Abstergo Industries can be seen through Aiden Pearce's Profiler.

There is a phone conversation between two people talking about Assassins and Templars, with one person listing Marco Polo, Henry Ford, the Three Stooges, and Charlie Chaplin as prospective members of either organization. Their contact correctly identifies Polo as an Assassin and Ford as a Templar, before proclaiming that one of the Stooges was a Templar with the other two being Assassins—though no name is given, leaving the identity of the Templar ambiguous—while Chaplin was part of neither group and instead was a Hermeticist

In the Season Pass trailer for Watch Dogs: Legion, the character Darcy was revealed as a member of the British Assassins.

The Mercenary Helmet from Assassin's Creed: Odyssey makes an appearance in Watch_Dogs: Legion as an exclusive mask called the "Helm of Sparta". It can be purchased on Ubisoft Connect for 100 Units.

Splinter Cell: Blacklist

During the mission "American Consumption," a flyer for video games can be found in the locker room. The list includes Assassin's Creed: Revelations, among other Ubisoft titles such as Just Dance 3, Rayman Origins, and Rocksmith.

Rainbow Six Siege

On the Bank map, an image of Arno Dorian can be seen on a newspaper.

In the Japan map, the belt buckles on the suits of samurai armor around the building bear the Assassin's symbol.

The Villa map was inspired by Monteriggioni. The fountain at the Fountain spawn has the Assassin Brotherhood's emblem as a part of its design. Climbing to the top of the tower near the Ruins, you will be able to see a haystack just outside of the map. If you shoot it, you will hear a cry of an eagle, a reference to the Leap of Faith. By climbing the highest part of the building on the Main Entrance side of the map, and looking towards the city while using a sight to zoom in, you can see the figure of an assassin perched on one of the buildings. The Vinciguerra crest is similar to the icon used in Assassin's Creed III for liberation missions.

Final Fantasy XV

The Assassins' insignia can be spotted on a newspaper in a shot of a subway train in the Omen trailer.

In August 2017, Square Enix released free downloadable content for Final Fantasy XV titled Assassin's Festival to commemorate their collaboration with Ubisoft. The DLC features familiar elements from the Assassin's Creed series and also allows the player to wear Altaïr or Bayek's outfits by unlocking them through new sidequests and minigames.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor

There is a Rune for Talion's dagger, Acharn, called "Hidden Blade" which is a possible reference to the signature weapon used by the Assassins. When equipped, Talion deals extra stealth damage to Uruk Captains.

Middle-Earth: Shadow of War

An achievement titled "Everything is Permitted" can be earned by shaming an Uruk Assassin to the point that he becomes deranged.

Watch_Dogs 2

Movie posters in Watch_Dogs 2 for a movie called "Disbeliever" seem to be an Easter Egg for Assassin's Creed. The upside down triangle at the top is a reference to Erudito, an anti-Abstergo hacker group. Erudito's symbol is the upside down Abstergo logo. The person pictured in the poster is similar in appearance to Owen Meyers, an Assassin from "Assassin's Creed: Last Descendants" series. Owen Meyers relived historical events in New York City, which is the city depicted in the poster. Both Watch Dogs 2 and "Assassin's Creed: Last Descendants" were released in 2016.

Posters for and copies of the Assassin's Creed movie can be found around the map. The movie is also paused on the screen of the Bratva's yacht.

During the mission "Ubi-Stolen" a Ubisoft employee can be heard talking about leaks from projects like Unity, Syndicate, and Osiris. These names are references to Assassin's Creed: Unity, Assassin's Creed: Syndicate, and Osiris, a cancelled game that was reworked and turned into Assassin's Creed: Origins. Pictures from Assassin's Creed: Unity can be seen on the inside of the Ubisoft building.
