Grigori Rasputin (1869-1913) was a Russian mystical faith healer, and covert Templar agent assigned to infiltrate the Russian Royal House. He used his alleged powers to cure the Tsar's son, Alexei, of hemophilia, and he apparently saved the boy from a grave crisis. His real mission was to acquire the Staff of Eden owned by the Tsar, in the form of the Imperial Scepter. He succeeded, but the Staff was then destroyed during the Tunguska explosion and he could only salvage a small remaining piece. Rasputin survived an assassination attempt in 1914, performed by one of his own disciples, Khioniya Guseva. When World War I began, his negative influence on the Tsar was enormous, but he was eventually murdered by a Russian aristocrat named Felix Yusupov, along with a few co-conspirators. He was buried with a splinter of the destroyed Staff of Eden.
