"I never touched him, since the first pustules appeared, and he at least had the decency to keep away from me and wallow in the gutter with his whores afterward."
―Charlotte to Ezio and Machiavelli, regarding Cesare Borgia.[src]

Charlotte d'Albret (1480 – 11 March 1514), Dâme de Châlus and Duchess of Valence, was a wealthy French noblewoman who lived in Rome during its liberation. She was also the wife of Pope Alexander VI's son, Cesare Borgia, and together they had a daughter. However, when Cesare became infected with the French disease, Charlotte and her daughter left Cesare.

After the death of Rodrigo Borgia and imprisonment of Cesare, the Assassins Ezio Auditore da Firenze and Niccolò Machiavelli visited Charlotte in an attempt to find either Cesare or Micheletto Corella. However, Charlotte explained to them that she didn't have, nor desired any contact with either of them. Following this, Charlotte decided to leave Rome and travel back to France.
