The Château Clique was a group of wealthy families in Lower Canada during the early 19th century, and a leading faction of the Templar Order during their time.
In 1832, the Assassin and journalist Ludger Duvernay posted a number of articles accusing the Canadian administration of serving the Château Clique, after which the Clique had Duvernay arrested and imprisoned, even managing to rally the Canadian public against Duvernay.
