Featured article nominations

This page lists all the nominations for Featured status. The Rafiqan monitor this page and the voting process.

Featured is the highest level an article can achieve, and as such, it must meet certain requirements.

  • …be well-written and detailed.
  • …be unbiased, non-point of view.
  • …be sourced with all available references and appearances.
  • …follow the Manual of Style, Layout Guide, and all other wiki policies.
  • …not be tagged with any sort of improvement tags.
  • …have a proper lead, with a undetailed résumé of the article's contents.
  • …have no more than 6 redlinks and none in the introduction, infobox, or any templates.
  • …have significant information from all sources and appearances, especially a biography for character articles.
  • …provide at least one quote on the article.
  • …preferably include a "personality and characteristics" section on all character articles.
  • …include at least 2 images of sufficient quality to illustrate the article, if said images are available.
  • …pass review by the Bureau review panel.

If the article meets at least 5 of the prerequisites, the article is permitted to be held for nomination.

How to nominate:

  1. First, nominate an article you find is worthy of Featured status, putting it at the bottom of the list below.
  2. Others will object to the nomination if they disagree that the article is not good enough; they will then supply reasons for doing so, and ways to improve the article (errors, style, organization, images, notability, sources).
  3. Supporters adjust the article until the objectors (with reasonable objections) are satisfied.
  4. The article is placed on the Featured article list and categorized as such.
  5. Also, if, at least a week after the article's nomination, that article has 5 Bureau supports and no objections (or the objections have been stricken or overridden), it will be added to the queue, and will be officially known as a "Featured article."

How to vote:

  1. Before doing anything, be sure to read the article completely, keeping a sharp eye out for mistakes.
  2. Afterwards, compare the article to the criteria listed above, and then either support or object the article's nomination.
  3. Please note that in order for your vote to count, you must have at least 50 mainspace edits.
    1. If you object, please supply concrete reasons for doing so, and how it can be improved.
  4. As stated above, any objections will be looked upon by the nominator, supporters, and anyone willing to improve the article, and action will be taken to please the objectors. Do not strike other users' objections; it is up to the objector to review the changes and strike if they are satisfied.
  5. Once the article has at least five supporting Bureau votes and no outstanding objections after at least a week, the article will be added to the queue and be officially known as a "Featured article." Non-Bureau members are also encouraged to review articles and participate in the process.

Also remember to add {{NomF}}at the top of the article you are nominating.

Aveline de Grandpré

This one's about a year overdue, but here she is, finally.

I know reading this article over might be a bit daunting, but uuhh, please do? Also, feel free to list down any criticisms you might have, I want to get this one perfect. I hope there's no spelling errors, but I was kind of eager to put this up, so it's possible there might be some. Will re-read tomorrow.

Thanks to Kain for all da screenshots! Thanks to DarkFeather for being so patient! :) Crook The Constantine District 23:09, September 10, 2014 (UTC)

  8. I know you've been working very hard on Aveline's page, and since it brought out a bit of a "TL;DR" reaction from me at 2:30am, I fully trust that the article is in the best structural condition that is to be expected of a featured article. :) Slate Vesper (talk) 01:35, September 16, 2014 (UTC)

  1. The article appears to have been written perfectly. The only fault I can find is the top quote, which is from a trailer. Also, the part about Ubisoft having cooperated with Abstergo seems like more of a joke inserted by Ubisoft. Otherwise, fantastic work.--Bovkaffe (talk) 13:37, September 11, 2014 (UTC)
    1. Thanks for commenting, Bovkaffe. As for the main quote, I actually hadn't taken that into account (for some reason I believed Connor's top quote was also from promo material - I think that was actually a deleted segment though). I will try and have a browse around the memories, but Aveline doesn't seem to engage in dramatic monologues all that often in-game, so there's not as much material there to use. If there are other people that feel it should be changed, I will do my best to find a replacement, but for now, I think this one works pretty well? I hope you don't mind. As for the Ubisoft thing - the list of ancestors of Desmond that was included in one of the e-mails was also a kind of in-joke, but it still remains true in canon.Crook The Constantine District 13:53, September 11, 2014 (UTC)
      1. To be fair, Connor's quote, while cut from the game (which annoys me), appears in Forsaken as well, so it's fine. I may look for an Aveline quote myself as well. --The Crimson Eagle - Intercom 15:13, September 11, 2014 (UTC)
        1. Sure, go ahead. I do feel the trailer quote is quite a good fit, and an alternative from the game doesn't immediately come to mind. It's a shame she's not very philosophical :p Crook The Constantine District 15:22, September 11, 2014 (UTC)
          1. I think the Subject 1 interview might have some good ones.--Bovkaffe (talk) 15:28, September 11, 2014 (UTC)
