ACO The Vulture Symbol

Actaeon's symbol

Actaeon (died 48 BCE), also known as The Vulture, was a member of the Order of the Ancients during the reign of Ptolemy XIII.

In 48 BCE, Actaeon was killed by Aya, who had been tracking the Order in Alexandria for the death of her son Khemu. After learning of Actaeon's assassination, one of his brothers, Ktesos, known as the Ram, sought to avenge his death, tracking Aya to her home, where she killed him instead.[1]

  • Actaeon shares his name with the Theban hero, best known for angering a goddess and dying as a result of it.
